I appreciate the explanation of your intentions with the questions. I do have a Christ- and Bible-centric worldview for sure, I see the Bible as a final written authority but I'm not closed-minded like a lot of evangelicals tend to be... maybe because I'm not evangelical anymore, at least not in the modern sense of that term.

I do believe God does things outside of our understanding but I also do think that there's a limit to the sorts of things He does because I believe in the hard truth of the Bible. If He crowned humanity as stewards of creation, it wouldn't make sense for Him to make beings more advanced and intelligent than we are, at least not within the realm of temporal creation.

Thanks for continuing in the way you have. It's refreshing to have a discussion that is both intellectual and respectful!

I explained it. Keeping things civilized forces them to at least partly play by the rules. That's the only way we have a shot to win. They WANT us to get violent. It's their greatest dream. It gives them legal grounds to mobilize violence against their opposition while maintaining the semblance of civilized authority to those who don't pay attention.

In my experience, I've only had a handful of games not work either right out of the gate or with really basic tweaks. Of that handful, only one of them was broken to a degree that I just didn't feel like continuing to try. Linux gaming is honestly incredible at this point.

Possible, but I'm not so pessimistic. Maybe it's because I see fiat as a symptom, rather than the cause, but I honestly think things will actually get better sooner rather than later. I can't exactly pinpoint why without sounding like a crackpot but I don't think the long-term outlook is as bleak as the scenario you presented here. Again, possible, I'm not saying it's not. I like the idea of having an easy way to obtain feeds from various sites that I follow, but it seems like more and more sites are either doing away with it entirely or severely hindering it. I get where you're coming from with this, but by that same logic isn't it wrong for video game characters to refer to themselves as I? They have even less intelligence than LLMs do. I'm not one that pretends like AI has rights or any sort of sentience, but I also don't think it's a huge deal for us to personify them in the context of our own work.

Now, if somebody started actively pretending that their AI was real to the point where they actually started believing it is (eg. Lance Twiggs, according to reports) then I could definitely see a problem there, but I don't personally have anything against it referring to itself like that in casual banter and AI-based work.

But to each their own, I suppose!
