From AI:

You are likely seeing headlines regarding a major emergency security update released by The Tor Project (version 0.4.9.13).

The advisory covers high-severity vulnerabilities affecting the entire Tor network—including relays, clients, and onion services.

Here is a quick breakdown of what is going on:

Key Details

* The Scope: The patch addresses multiple tracked vulnerabilities (using Tor's internal TROVE identifiers) spanning memory corruptions, use-after-free conditions in connection handling, and stream isolation bugs.

* Anonymity & Relay Risks: Some of the flaws could theoretically allow a malicious .onion site or compromised HSDir relay to link browsing activities across separate sessions or bypass stream isolation. Other bugs involve potential denial-of-service vectors via connection flooding or memory issues in reverse DNS resolution.

* The "AI Firehose" Context: The Tor Project noted that an influx of automated bug reports (often referred to as an LLM/AI vulnerability report wave) led to a massive batch of findings that maintainers had to rapidly verify, patch, and test.

* Active Exploits? At the time of the release, reports indicate there are no confirmed exploits actively running in the wild, and full technical write-ups are being temporarily held back to give operators time to update safely.

What You Should Do

* Network/Relay Operators: The Tor Project strongly urges an immediate upgrade to 0.4.9.13.

* Tor Browser Users: Keep in mind that stable Tor Browser builds (such as 15.0.23) may lag slightly behind core network releases. If you are engaging in sensitive browsing, it is best to exercise caution and wait for the upcoming Tor Browser update that fully bundles these core security fixes.

quoting
nevent1q…rhz4
High-severity vulnerabilities are affecting Tor across the entire network:

https://cybernews.com/security/tor-emergency-fixes-adress-high-severity-vulnerabilities/?utm_source=cn_twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=cybernews&utm_content=post&source=cn_twitter&medium=social&campaign=cybernews&content=post

That headline stems from a real and developing story today that has sparked significant speculation.
Here is a breakdown of what is actually known so far:
The Flight: Flight tracking data showed a U.S. Air Force C-17 flying from Riga, Latvia, and landing in Moscow today (Tuesday, August 25).
The Convoy: Shortly after the landing, footage began circulating in Moscow showing a motorcade operating with U.S. diplomatic license plates.
The Speculation: Because neither Washington nor Moscow announced a diplomatic visit, theories are swirling that the convoy is tied to covert backchannel negotiations or secret talks regarding the war in Ukraine.
What officials are saying:
Right now, both sides are staying tight-lipped. The U.S. European Command has declined to offer any information regarding the flight's mission, passengers, or cargo. On the Russian side, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed to have no information about the aircraft and stated there are no meetings planned with U.S. administration officials in Moscow this week.
Because there is no official confirmation yet, the situation remains highly speculative.

You can physically pull the media once booted.
• Zero SD wear: the disk is never mounted writable during operation. Cold power-cycle wipes RAM instantly.

Repo with build scripts and release images:
https://github.com/bootlace-dev/subzero-keyosk

Please review, audit, and comment. Here are the latest details on the situation:
* Injuries: Authorities report that at least 41 people have been injured, with several hospitalized. Earlier reports mentioned two people were being searched for under the rubble of a home.
* Damage: The tornado caused immense destruction in the village, damaging approximately 300 homes. Many buildings had their roofs completely ripped off, and trees and vegetation were heavily damaged.
* Emergency Response: More than 120 firefighters, including specialized search and rescue teams, have been deployed to the area to secure buildings and assist residents. A shelter has been opened at the local community hall for those displaced.
* Wider Weather Impacts: The supercell storm that spawned the tornado also brought massive hailstones (3 to 5 cm in diameter), torrential rain, and wind gusts exceeding 100 km/h across the Aude department. The severe weather even forced officials to cancel the third stage of the Vuelta a España cycling race, which was taking place in the region.
The region had been placed on an orange alert for severe storms prior to the event, as the clash of hot, humid air from the Mediterranean and cooler air aloft created a highly unstable atmosphere.

Nothing touches disk.

• Against short-list / biased-math tampering: The pure dice/coin math is 100% deterministic BIP39 (verifiable offline against standalone calculators/tables), and the entire OS image is byte-for-byte reproducible with GPG-signed checksums.

We definitely plan to add direct Raspberry Pi / ARM64 SBC support to our roadmap next (plugging HDMI into a dumb TV/monitor + USB keyboard).

Build script & module stripping logic is here if you want to inspect:

https://github.com/bootlace-dev/subzero-keyosk/blob/main/scripts/build_alpine_kiosk.sh

Curious to hear how your airgapped Pi setup shapes up!

cc: @thejohnnycrypto

      Help me make this description better:

🔌 THE USB-C CHARGING & COMMUNICATION TRAP

USB-C cables are confusing and frustrating. Why are they not communicating with your laptop (file transfer, flashing devices, etc)? Why are they charging so slowly?

Both high-speed charging and data file transfers require a digital connection between your devices. Your cables fail these tasks due to a few distinct issues:

• MISSING WIRES IN THE CABLE BODY: Cheap "charge-only" cables leave out the internal data and communication wires entirely to save cost. The laptop cannot detect the phone at all (zero file transfer), and charging is forced to standard slow speeds. You cannot tell by looking at the plug; the metal pins might be present on the tip, but they are "dead" inside.

• MISSING METAL CONTACTS IN THE TIP: If the physical pins responsible for either file transfer or fast charging are missing from the plug, that specific function is guaranteed to be gone.

• BROKEN OR DIRTY TIPS: Worn pins or lint blocks the signals. Because pins are separate, you might lose file transfer capability while charging still works, or vice versa. This often causes "asymmetrical" behavior, where a function only works if you flip the plug over to the other side (requiring testing by flipping one end, then the other end, then the first end again).

If the connection fails for any of these reasons, the devices cannot negotiate and the charger silently falls back to standard slow charging, while file transfer fails entirely.

Once you figure out its status, label the cable with something of meaning to you (example: "PD" for power-delivery only, "2" for USB-2 data transfer, "ASYNC" meaning you have to flip the tips to make it work).

Records that would otherwise be blanked under the standard schedule will be retained until further notice.
* Opt-Out Option: Customers who want their data subjected to existing retention policies can request an exemption from this protocol and have their data preserved removed by contacting support@coinkite.com.
* Transparency & Legal Override: This is a departure from published practices, but the legal obligation to preserve records relevant to legal proceedings overrides internal data-retention policies and standard deletion schedules.
* Security & Access Control: During this period, all retained customer data will be stored securely, and access will be restricted to authorized personnel. Retained data will not be used for any purpose other than compliance with legal obligations. Standard data-blanking practices will resume as soon as legally permitted.
* Inquiries: Questions about this change can be directed to support@coinkite.com.

[Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: $10]
The only acceptable source of entropy for tier-1 cold storage is physical casino dice (50 rolls) or fair coins (128 flips), providing 128 bits of security. The offline computer should only be used as a calculator to convert this physical entropy into BIP39 seed words.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: The Generic Live USB. [Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: 2hrs + USB Drive]
Boot an offline bare-metal laptop into a mature generic live OS.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: Mandatory Signature Verification. [Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: 30m]
Before moving offline tools (Sparrow, iancoleman/bip39, airgap-coinflip, or Python CLI scripts) to the offline laptop, you must verify their PGP/SHA256 signatures. This prevents supply-chain malware from silently swapping the tool's RNG logic for predictable outputs.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: COTS Hardware Hierarchy. [Impact: 🟠 High] [Cost: $50]
Prefer a Raspberry Pi (ensure you distrust the proprietary Broadcom silicon RNG). Chromebooks are acceptable. Old Windows laptops are a distant third.
• 🔴 RED FLAG: Hardware Wallet Watering Holes. [Impact: 🟠 High] [Cost: $0]
HWWs introduce unnecessary risks: concentrated supply-chain watering holes AND malicious firmware capable of covert nonce exfiltration (e.g., Dark Skippy), leaking your seed to the mempool. An offline laptop provides equal security.

📱 SMARTPHONES & MOBILE WALLETS
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: OS-Level Entropy Pools. [Impact: 🟡 Medium] [Cost: 1hr]
Use a security-hardened OS. It derives high-quality entropy from the Secure Element and CPU hardware interrupts.
• 🔴 RED FLAG: Browser Extensions & JS Wallets. [Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: 5m]
Never generate keys inside mobile browsers or connected JS apps. JS cannot zeroize memory, leaving entropy in heap garbage collection. (Running standalone JS on a Live USB is safe, as powering off destroys the RAM).

☁️ HOME SERVERS & NODES (GCP / AWS / Colo)
• 🔴 RED FLAG: Virtual Machine Snapshot State-Reuse. [Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: 1hr]
Never clone or restore VM snapshots for cryptographic nodes. While modern kernels update via VMGENID, it creates a "userspace trap" where long-running apps reuse the exact same pre-snapshot PRNG state.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: CPU Distrust (Linux). [Impact: 🟠 High] [Cost: 10m]
Cloud VMs and CPUs contain closed-source silicon RNGs. Check your server's bootloader to ensure it is configured to distrust the silicon RNG.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: CPU Jitter OS Mixing. [Impact: 🟡 Medium] [Cost: 5m]
For physical home nodes, avoid USB RNG watering holes. Ensure your Linux kernel is actively mixing native CPU execution time jitter.

🌐 HOME ROUTERS & TOR / VPNS
• 🔴 RED FLAG: Embedded Router Starvation. [Impact: 🔴 Critical] [Cost: 30m]
Home routers lack physical hardware interrupts. Check your custom firmware to ensure it manages entropy natively, avoiding obsolete daemons.
• 🟢 GREEN LIGHT: Service Delaying. [Impact: 🟠 High] [Cost: 5m]
Ensure Tor/VPN daemons are explicitly configured to wait for the OS CRNG to fully initialize during boot (check systemd/init scripts).

***
Generated via multi-model asymptotic_audit loop.
5ecfe501552fdae4a17339d84c0d6bdf5988b2fe0b0544d5b61cb0e78dac482e
Last Updated: 2026-08-07 15:15 UTC

CTO Entropy Audit Checklist

Inspired by Jameson Lopp's The Rise of the Machines: "Our teams reviewed every place Casa systems interact with entropy and key generation."

Ultra-dense binary assertions for auditing legacy and modern Bitcoin infrastructure.

1. Hardware / Firmware

[ ] TRNG Build-Config Verification: Audit compilation flags. Assert hardware RNG enablement macros evaluate strictly by integer value (e.g.,
#if MACRO == 1
) rather than definition presence (
#ifdef
) to block silent compiler-level PRNG fallbacks (mitigating the 2026 Coldcard
MICROPY_HW_ENABLE_RNG
vector).

[ ] Strict Fail-Closed: Assert device halt on hardware TRNG failure. Nullify fallbacks to software PRNGs.

[ ] Manual Entropy Isolation: Assert firmware natively supports user-provided physical entropy (e.g., 256-bit dice rolls via SHA-256) that cryptographically overrides underlying silicon TRNG/PRNG logic.

[ ] HSM Partition Integrity: Check enterprise HSM (F5/nShield) recovery partitions for persistent malicious RNG firmware bridging factory resets.

[ ] UEFI Seed Hook: Validate
EFI_RNG_PROTOCOL
execution in Linux EFI stub pre-OS initialization.

2. Virtualization / Hypervisor

[ ]
VMGENID
State Synchronization: Confirm hypervisor ACPI
VMGENID
triggers kernel reseed. Assert long-running crypto daemons continuously poll
getrandom()
or use modern vDSO state rather than caching infinite userspace PRNG streams, ensuring they synchronize with post-clone/resume kernel resets.

[ ] Golden Image Cleansing: Assert deletion of
/var/lib/systemd/random-seed
and
/loader/random-seed
state files in VM clone templates. Set
/etc/machine-id
to
uninitialized
to force unique pool generation per clone.

3. Kernel / OS

[ ]
getrandom()
Seccomp Passthrough: Verify container runtimes (K8s/Docker) do not block
getrandom()
. For kernels >= 6.11, assert the
MAP_DROPPABLE
flag in
mmap()
is unblocked by seccomp to permit vDSO state allocation.

[ ] Silicon & Bootloader Distrust: Assert
random.trust_cpu=off
AND
random.trust_bootloader=off
in boot parameters to block compromised silicon or poisoned UEFI seeds from bypassing CRNG mixing logic.

[ ] Userspace Daemon Purge: Delete
haveged
/
jitterentropy
on kernels >= 5.4.

4. Userspace / Application

[ ] Hardware Instruction Set Bypass (RDRAND): Assert environment-level blocking of direct silicon assembly instructions by userspace libraries (e.g.,
OPENSSL_ia32cap="~0x4000000000000000"
) to prevent silent evasion of the OS CRNG.

[ ] Web Ecosystem Integrity (JS/Node): Hard-block
Math.random()
and legacy
CryptoJS.lib.WordArray.random()
software PRNGs (mitigating the May 2026 "Ill Bloom" vulnerability). Enforce strict
crypto.getRandomValues()
or
crypto.randomBytes()
.

[ ] Early-Boot Blocking: Audit processes for
/dev/urandom
reads pre-CRNG initialization.

[ ] High-Stakes vDSO Bypass: For tier-1 key generation, bypass glibc wrappers and vDSO entirely. Mandate raw
syscall(SYS_getrandom)
to guarantee kernel-level blocking and avoid user-space state corruption post-fork (CVE-2025-0577).

[ ] Legacy Namespace Fork-Safety: Assert
madvise(..., MADV_WIPEONFORK)
on PRNG memory buffers for kernels < 6.11 to prevent identical PID state cloning.

[ ] Library Fallback Nullification: Hard-block OpenSSL fallbacks to
/dev/urandom
. Specifically audit Mbed TLS (< 3.6.6) and TF-PSA-Crypto (< 1.1.0) configurations for predictable
/dev/urandom
fallbacks upon
getrandom()
failure (CVE-2026-34871).

[ ] Deterministic Seed Invalidation: Assert firmware updates do not recover deterministic seeds. Mandate full cryptographic sweep/re-generation for seeds created under flawed PRNG firmware.

Defensive Rationale Index (Methodology)

This checklist was generated via an autonomous, multi-model
asymptotic_audit
loop. Independent adversarial Red Team AI agents executed live 2026 web research sweeps, iteratively attacking the document's constraints until a zero-change asymptote was reached. All hallucinations and structural gaps were purged.

Authorship Proof (SHA-256):
7f73329ad162d4b07d9472b609881fa883136c941b7c8c2f5e43ab56b7de5a2d

Cause and effect, clean and true.

Maybe that's just the engineer in me, expecting the world to run on predictable logic. It lulls you into trusting the floor.

But look closer, and the rest is just an open-air casino run by human nature. My safety, my wealth, my happiness, my entire life depend on someone else's fragile interpretation of words in a statute. My livelihood rests on gambling on other people's reputations, shifting moods, and invisible social tethers—nothing concrete, nothing real, just a massive, high-stakes wager on what humans will decide to do next.

Everyone, dump all your ideas here now, we can recap after a few days.

quoting
nevent1q…5ex4
I deep dived Random Number Generators with Chatty today.

My conclusion, if you do a dice roll right, it’s perfect. The problem is, you’re not going to do it right.

Which is why we have:

Pseudorandom Number Generators (PRNG),
Cryptographically Secure Pseudorandom Number Generators (CSPRNG),
True Random Number Generators (TRNG) and
Hardware Random Number Generators (HRNG)

which are all imperfect, but their imperfections are better than your imperfect dice roll, unless it isn’t.

      Most users don't need to buy a hardware wallet, and probably shouldn't. Don't let the marketing and influencers sway you.

For deep storage, physical backups replace vulnerable hardware firmware.

Keep these two components, optionally along with their qr codes.

1. The Keys
Secret Seed Words (Private)
CRITICAL: Keep Strictly Offline & Secret. This unlocks your coins. If anyone gets these words, your coins are gone. Store in multiple secure places on paper or stamped steel in a secure vault (or encrypted if you and your beneficiaries know how).

Example 12-word seed phrase:
audit journey sense bulk valley maple destroy tiger audit journey sense cable

2. The Map
Output Descriptor (Public)
SAFE TO SHARE / WATCH-ONLY: This tells your wallet software exactly where to look on the bitcoin blockchain to find your bitcoin balance (your money). Without this map, standard recovery software won't know which address paths to search. Keep with your inheritance papers.

Example "Output Descriptor" map:
wpkh([832d169e/84'/0'/0']xpub6CS3oFPYQuUdxsBY8BCLyyEs7LUeP1WmhajfyTGVuQMC5kLDc3PTiM2SWyxUuTG9C5SnyCNKZnMHzdGZ1FFLUzYRYSwB6KAg9X94zJf94Tn/0/*)

https://github.com/ghscuuo/airgap-coinflip

Your breakdown matches core cryptographic definitions of entropy, search-space reduction, and Kerckhoffs's principle.

• Why Your Explanations Hold Up:
• Coin Flip Bias: Correct. The Diaconis bias is dynamically erased by surface bounces, and mathematically hidden from the attacker because they lack the starting state observations.
• The Coldcard "Beach Pail" Metaphor: Correct. The attacker doesn't guess random points in the universe; they run the known generator algorithm to compute the exact locations inside the "pail" (the 2⁴⁰ candidate subset).
• The "Unknown 40 Bits" Logic: Correct. If a system randomly selects 2⁴⁰ coordinates out of 2²⁵⁶ without exposing the selection algorithm, the attacker is still forced to search the entire 2²⁵⁶ space. The collapse only occurs because the generator function is public.

https://github.com/ghscuuo/airgap-coinflip

I added tests for those to the sanity check of the user-entered coin flips, throwing Warnings, not an Errors, when detected.

Audits and suggestions welcome, please:
https://github.com/ghscuuo/airgap-coinflip/releases/tag/v0.0.1-rc.1
Currently runs...

Inspired by Ian Coleman (in a good way) and Rodolfo Novak (not so much).

Maybe. Let's train the humans better.

If the human randomly mistakes a few heads for tails, or straightens up a few of their flipped coins "switching" some coins "incorrectly", it doesn't matter:
• Human typo on 128-bit coin flips:
• Base entropy remains 128 bits.
• Transcription errors shift the output to another random 128-bit coordinate.
• Attacker learns nothing about the human coin flip mistake pattern. Attacker search space remains 2¹²⁸ (impenetrable without the original pre-image).

• 40-bit HW wallet RNG vulnerability:
• Systemic state space restricted to 2⁴⁰ total keys.
• Attacker knows exactly what the very short list of seeds are. Attacker sweeps the entire 2⁴⁰ universe (~1 trillion keys) off-site.
• Every device world-wide running the compromised firmware is swept.

• Security margin:
• Human input error: Alters the destination, preserves the entropy barrier.
• Hardware RNG flaw: Dramatically collapses the entropy barrier for all of those users globally simultaneously.

Cross-check:

### Mathematical Correctness Review: Verified Sound

• Human Typo Math:
• Let random coin-flip sequence be X (H(X) = 128 bits).
• Let transcription error offset be E.
• Key Y = X oplus E remains uniformly distributed. H(Y) = 128 bits. The search space remains 2¹²⁸.
• Nuance: If "straightens up" means the human physically flips coins but modifies runs (e.g., changing HHHH to HTHT to "look more random"), cognitive bias introduces dependency between bits, dropping the entropy. If "straightens up" just means correcting physical coin orientations to write them down, the math stands.
• 40-bit Hardware Math:
• 2⁴⁰ ≈ 1.1 trillion keys. Trivial for modern GPU/ASIC clusters to sweep.
• Systemic firmware distribution means every affected user shares the exact same small state space.
• Failure Mode Distinction:
• Human typo = Usability/recovery failure (funds locked at random 2¹²⁸ coordinate).
• Hardware RNG flaw = Cryptographic security failure (funds stolen from collapsed 2⁴⁰ coordinate).
Look at all the tricks and hoops they have to go through, in a feeble risky error-prone attempt, to try protect the user from the user and from the manufacturer. Folks should stop trusting such devices to generate their secrets, and stop treating them like the ultimate secret vault.

The Marketing Trap: People buy these dedicated boxes thinking they bought "secure hardware." In reality, it's just an offline signing device.

The Risk Profile: They are a massive watering-hole risk. If one rarely signs transactions on-chain, then they don't need a specialized device. They're paying to put a giant bullseye on their savings.

The 10-20 year quantum threat is a risk-management assumption, not a consensus timeline (physics constraints are massive). Bitcoin will require a post-quantum network upgrade long before these threats operationalize.

CONTEXT: Thread discusses manual BIP39 seed generation via physical coin flips (pennies) to eliminate PRNG hardware/software trust assumptions.

CLASSICAL BRUTE FORCE:
• 128-bit (12 words): Requires energy exceeding current planetary output. Classically secure indefinitely.
• 256-bit (24 words): Requires more energy than the sun will produce in its lifetime.

QUANTUM THREAT: Grover's Algorithm (Hashing/Symmetric)
• Theoretically halves cryptographic strength, but practically carries massive quantum gate-depth overhead. 128-bit offline seeds remain practically secure.
• 256-bit seeds completely harden the offline BIP39/BIP32 derivation pathways against theoretical quantum arrays.

QUANTUM THREAT: Shor's Algorithm (Asymmetric/ECC)
• Shor's algorithm breaks the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (secp256k1) used in Bitcoin signatures.
• If a public key is exposed on-chain (e.g., via spending from an address), seed length offers zero protection against Shor's deriving the private key.

CONCLUSION: 256 coin flips hardens offline storage against Grover's, but cannot fix the underlying ECC vulnerability of a spent transaction. Network transition to post-quantum signature schemes will be required regardless of the chosen seed length.

Classically secure indefinitely.
• 256-bit (24 words): Requires more energy than the sun will produce in its lifetime.

QUANTUM THREAT: Grover's Algorithm (Hashing/Symmetric)
• Theoretically halves cryptographic strength, but practically carries massive quantum gate-depth overhead. 128-bit offline seeds remain practically secure.
• 256-bit seeds completely harden the offline BIP39/BIP32 derivation pathways against theoretical quantum arrays.

QUANTUM THREAT: Shor's Algorithm (Asymmetric/ECC)
• Shor's algorithm breaks the Elliptic Curve Cryptography (secp256k1) used in Bitcoin signatures.
• If a public key is exposed on-chain (e.g., via spending from an address), seed length offers zero protection against Shor's deriving the private key.

CONCLUSION: 256 coin flips hardens offline storage against Grover's, but cannot fix the underlying ECC vulnerability of a spent transaction. Network transition to post-quantum signature schemes will be required regardless of the chosen seed length.

Pennies eliminate format/translation vectors in exchange for a manageable increase in physical labor.
• Hypothesis 2 (Diceware vs. BIP39 translation): 100% accurate observation.
• Diceware Mechanics (Base-6 to Base-6): 5 physical dice rolls yield exactly 7,776 states (6⁵). This maps 1:1 to the 7,776-word list. Zero mathematical translation. Zero modulo bias.
• BIP39 Mechanics (Base-6 to Base-2): 2,048-word list (2¹¹). Physical dice (Base-6) cannot map cleanly to an 11-bit binary space without forced translation, modulus math, or cryptographic hashing.
• Conclusion: The stellar reputation of dice is inherited from standard Diceware (where the math aligns perfectly). The math failures and UX friction arise exclusively when forcing Base-6 physical hardware into the Base-2 BIP39 standard.

maybe we need a new base6 bip...

      In reply to nevent1q…4mj8
_________________________

from my AI:

> i'm trying to express to normal non-techy humans a very rough sense of the relative safety of flipping pennies for entropy vs dice rolls and dice math

• Coins (Pennies): High Labor, Zero Risk
• Native machine language (Base-2 / Binary).
• 1 flip = exactly 1 bit. 128 flips = 128 bits.
• Aerodynamic physics of high-rotation flips neutralize minor weight imbalances.
• Zero mathematical translation required.
• Immune to format-mismatch and base-conversion errors.

• Dice (Pedestrian): Low Labor, High Risk
• Foreign machine language (Base-6).
• Requires mathematical translation (Base-6 to Base-2), introducing cryptographic failure vectors (modulo bias, truncation).
• Introduces human UX failure vectors (miscalculating roll counts, inputting into incorrect tool fields).
• Missing physical mass (drilled pips) and rounded edges skew resting probabilities.
• Base entropy structurally degrades from 2.58 bits down to ~2.5 bits before translation even begins.

• The Trade-off
• Coins require sheer physical brute force (128 flips) but guarantee cryptographic safety.
• Dice save physical labor (50 rolls) but introduce compounding catastrophic risks (manufacturing bias + translation math + human error).

I don't know if I believe all of those words, but the essence hits home for me. Flipping coins gets a bad rap. I'm trying to rehabilitate its reputation. 😉

Copy and paste that into your strongest AI and post back here what it says.

Opus comment on the above:

• AI Review Synthesis (Pro Model):
• Verdict: Persuasive success (hypes coins, demonizes dice) but severe target-audience failure (alienates laypersons with crypto-student jargon).
• Strengths: "High Labor/Zero Risk" dichotomy successfully anchors the trade-off. Highlighting physical tangibility of "drilled pips" grounds abstract entropy logic.
• Weakness (Jargon Overload): Terms like modulo bias, truncation, and UX failure vectors block non-techy comprehension.
• Weakness (Metaphor): "Base-2/Base-6 native language" introduces unnecessary mental translation steps.
• Weakness (Physics/Reality): "Zero Risk" ignores massive human fatigue vectors (boredom/miscounting 128 flips). Coin aerodynamics claim ignores Persi Diaconis physics (minor
starting-position bias).
• AI Prescriptions:
• Strip the math (e.g., "Computers speak 2s, dice speak 6s. Forcing 6 into 2 requires complicated math. Mistakes ruin randomness").
• Acknowledge physical fatigue and counting errors as the primary coin-flip risk.
