At this point is more sensible to hang up on, ignore a a message. And use the official channel to go verify and possibly get transferred back than to risk it.

My complaint on passkeys for the longest was that it tended to get locked to an ecosystem. But lately that's been getting better portability or support to store them to something like Bitwarden/Vaultwarden and go anywhere with it. Currently my iggest complaint is the companies going set up a passkey. Ok set it up. Go back username->password->if applicable mfa. Set up a passkey! Like come on, lets not prompt us till it works🤦‍♂️
