Current pools use Halo 2 and do not need that setup, but the history remains a trust criticism. shieldedscan.xyz/fact-check

- Privacy is optional, not default. A large share of supply and activity still sits on transparent addresses. btcc.com/en-AU/news/dee…

- Shielded pools hide supply internals. When a soundness bug exists, outside observers cannot cryptographically prove that counterfeit ZEC was never minted inside the pool. decrypt.co/370223/zcash-b…

- In May 2026 a four-year-old Orchard circuit flaw was found that could have allowed undetectable inflation. The pool was emergency-restricted, patched, then replaced by Ironwood; price crashed hard and some large holders sold because “probably unused” is not the same as “provably unused.” btcc.com/en-AU/news/dee…

- This was not the only inflation-class issue: Sprout had an earlier counterfeiting-style bug, and 2026 also saw other node/infrastructure bugs (sync poisoning, remotely triggerable crashes) that required rapid patches. tipranks.com/news/zcash-sur…

- Governance has been messy: ECC’s core team resigned in January 2026 after a fight with the Bootstrap board, then re-formed as a new funded lab. Trademark and funding fights have continued. cryptotimes.io/2026/09/08/zca…

- Mining has repeatedly concentrated in a few pools. That made emergency pauses easier to coordinate, but it also weakens the “no one can freeze the chain” claim. cryptonews.net/es/news/mining…

- Everyday usage is still small compared with major chains. Transaction counts, fees, and miner security budget are modest relative to the market cap that followed the 2025–2026 rally. 8blocks.io/audits/zcash-t…

- The same privacy that hides amounts also hides whether the 21 million cap was ever silently broken. That auditability gap is the core monetary critique versus Bitcoin. btcc.com/en-AU/news/dee… 2026-10-02T05:03:09Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqsqw8xvcdgrsvjzlk70a0jskx647nfcvuf5lvh7nddw8zk8u8w07xqzyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccyf3f434 In reply to nevent1q…zhlv
_________________________

Yo 🤙 2026-10-02T03:40:24Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqs076uzndjzdqs9dw3d857t96y8g8lgpq7tg9prn7xlsnpnukr900qzyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccyw24jf0 “The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.”
— Bruce Lee

You don’t need to be exceptional today. It completely bans regulated crypto exchanges, custodians, and digital banks across all 27 EU states from offering or supporting privacy-enhancing coins.

📉 The Preemptive Delistings:

You don’t have to wait until 2027 to feel the impact. Major platforms like Kraken and Binance have already stripped Monero from their European catalogs to protect their regional operating licenses under the broader MiCA framework.

🔍 The €1,000 Identity Trigger:

Even for standard crypto, the anonymous window is shutting. Any occasional transaction worth €1,000 or more now triggers enhanced KYC checks, all overseen by a powerful new watchdog agency (AMLA).

💼 What Remains Legal?:

The EU is blocking the commercial on- and off-ramps, not the code.

- Self-custody remains legal.
- P2P transfers between private wallets are outside the scope of the intermediary ban.

💡 The Big Takeaway:

The state isn't outlawing the math behind privacy; they are outlawing the businesses that bridge it to the traditional financial system. In response, the privacy community is aggressively migrating toward decentralized alternatives like atomic swaps and non-custodial P2P channels.

#Crypto #Monero #XMR #MiCA #Regulation #PrivacyCoins #EU 2026-09-21T11:25:31Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqstauk6xqju85d46ns90ftve5ew5aa00jzs6ecm0j5wwzat5l6ptrqzyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccyzrehsz In reply to nevent1q…6k0y
_________________________

I just saw your post on X that it was going to be taken down so I had to come provide the same commentary on NOSTR 😂

2026-08-03T20:40:44Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqs9snr77jwx4hkqmsfda6t0kg28ez3489c5whsyjgaqwcpa3jc5ugczyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccyej3k7s 🤔 2025-05-21T23:32:18Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqs0p7n9z08um3g7wapd0vk02xujqy8txvt00800qs3l4mp69sqs9vszyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccy8k5j5n Insane 2024-10-31T03:29:57Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqsf25jpyk008ceqfeup88mhavma96ut4gnnlw9pqzd07qq9gsj56wszyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccymymm8p What's your favorite hack for freeing up capital to buy #Bitcoin?

My favorite so far: Take a loan out against your 401k and dump it all into bitty 🧡 2024-10-30T03:07:10Z https://njump.cloud.vinney.xyz/nevent1qqsq7v3xry0hvzr8yxuzc84awj0vak2rwe6xyygnt54fcgqq2xnszgczyza33xyst9c5fds4dnkhqa5yj22dx40afeeml0jraw9eu27e8sccyggat8f In reply to nevent1q…a0nt
_________________________

With Zeus pay, you get a lightning address but the payments aren't processed unless you open Zeus and "redeem" your pending payments (zaps).
