In general, when multiple outcomes for a given scenario are considered, do not expect results trending towards utopia. We all know who the ruler of this world is right now. His ultimate objective is the ruin and destroy as much of God's creation as possible. There may be things that seen to be good but ultimately reinforce his holds on this world and cause trouble for the saints. God's hand is at work also, so don't assume nothing good will ever happen, but the general direction the world is traveling is down the wide easy path.

So, as a father I did find the second book "Piercing The Darkness" to be more disturbing. Both books are good for that. We need to be disturbed from time to time. The enemy wants us to be complacent and stories like this can wake you up.

These were both written almost 40 years ago but they could have just as easily been written today. The same trends, the same problems, the same attitudes are all even worse today.

Paul wrote truly in Ephesians 6
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Pray also for me that I also will live up to that example, that God would empower me to speak boldly in His name. Pray for humility and insight into my own failings so that I will seek forgiveness and reconciliation when I fall. Pray for guidance for my thoughts and actions so that I will be a worthy ambassador of our risen King. Pray that I finish this race and fight the good fight.

I ask these things not for my own glory, but for the glory of Jesus the Christ.

Starting a journey down a familiar road again.

This book has to be one of the most disturbing books I have ever read. I first read it as a teenager, but had to walk away from it part way through. For a person who takes the supernatural side of the Bible seriously it paints a vivid picture of what those spiritual articles might look like. Frankly, it scared me. I came back and finished it after months of pondering my thoughts.

If you are serious about your faith, then i cannot recommend these 2 books highly enough. They are a work of fiction, but it makes you think hard about what you believe.

The book you speak of is (in part) a record of eye witness accounts of the exercise of undeniable divine power. This exercise of divine power proves the identity of the individual in question. This identity gives divine weight to His words. Those words are what we try to center our life around.

It is not just "A Book." The fact that you discount it means that you have chosen not to believe it, but it does not make it untrue. You don't like what it says, so you try to make it look unimportant and wrong.

Liberty ≠ License

From a Christian perspective, “liberty ≠ license” means that Christian freedom is not freedom to do whatever one desires. It is freedom from slavery to sin so that one can freely live according to God’s will.

The New Testament makes this distinction explicitly. Paul writes:

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. ” - Galatians 5:13

Christian liberty therefore has a purpose and a boundary. Liberty is the freedom Christ gives us to live in truth, righteousness, and love.

License is treating freedom as permission to indulge whatever desires we have, regardless of whether they are sinful.

Jesus is divine and Lord, so Christian freedom cannot mean autonomy from Him. The Christian confession is essentially: Christ has freed me, therefore I belong to Christ. As Paul says, “you were bought with a price” (1 Corinthians 6:20).

This is why the Bible can simultaneously proclaim tremendous freedom and impose moral obligations. Christ frees us from condemnation (Romans 8:1), from slavery to sin (Romans 6:6–14), and ultimately from the dominion of death. But that freedom is intended to produce holiness.

There is an important paradox here:

Biblical freedom is not primarily the freedom to do whatever I want; it is the freedom to become what God created me to be.

Paul says, “through love serve one another.” Christian freedom asks not merely:

“Can I do this?”

but also:

“Is this good? Is it holy? Does it love my neighbor? Does it honor Christ?”

That is the difference between liberty and license.

The ecosystem that is in place is niche right now. Retention of users here is low because of the perception of better, easier alternatives.

Unfathomable Privilege

On Sundays we go to the church building and sit in a seat to listen to the pastor say some things about the Bible and God. We stand up a few times, sing some songs, and close our eyes to pray a little. Then we go out and continue our lives as if nothing special has happened.

This is what outsiders see when they go to a church service. Sadly, this is what many “Christians” also experience when they go to church. If this is all there is, then why would anyone want to waste their Sunday morning at a church?

The unexcited churchgoers are not seeing the reality of what is going on. The deception is strong in this world and only the power of our Lord can break through to show the reality hidden behind the fog of war. Yes, I said War. There is an ongoing battle being waged across the world during every hour of every day. From the moment that you wake up you are being attacked and misled by spiritual powers that are beyond our own ability to resist. That church is like a fortress protected by a King and his army. As Christians, your house is like a forward operating post and you are ambassadors of that King. When we gather together, we are proclaiming to the world that the King of Kings, the Maker of the Universe, the One and Only God is our Master.

When we lose sight of this fact it is easy to get distracted and misled. Satan lurks, waiting for any opportunity to attack the unprepared. This is what I mean when I say fog of war. The things and struggles of this world are hard to let go of, even with God’s help. You are a prime target if you are a true follower of Christ. When you go to church it should be seen for what it is. It is a chance to be in the presence of God and talk to Him. You have the opportunity to sing the praises of the one who formed the stars in the sky and the depths of the sea, the one who formed you in your mother’s womb and knows the number of hairs on your head, the one who walks on the raging seas but is a gentle healer. You get to talk to the one who formed all that exists by the power of His almighty Word, the one who cured the sick, gave sight to the blind, healed the broken, gave hearing to the deaf, and cared for those that the world cast away as worthless. You get the privilege of knowing the one who lived a perfect life amongst us, was tortured and killed by us, and yet came back to life having conquered death. You have the privilege of calling this Jesus, this Christ, this Savior of all who would call on his name your brother, your father, your King.

When you lose sight of all that, then you have been sidelined by the enemy. When you lose sight of that it is like a sailing ship that has not raised its sail to catch the wind. Then instead of excitement it feels like obligation.

That is not the kind of Christian I want to be. I don’t want to hide my light under a bowl and sing quietly so as not to disturb the world. That is not our calling. We are not called to be timid wallflowers who wilt at the first hint of resistance. We are called to be BOLD. We are called to Go into ALL the Nations and proclaim Christ as King. This same Messiah, this Jesus, our King has promised to be with us Always, even unto the end of the age.

That is something to be excited about.
None of us is worthy of this, and yet, it is something we are all called to.
Let us strive to be the sons and daughters our Father in heaven desires us to be.

Lord, renew in us a fire that burns bright for Your Glory. Remind us of that fierce love we had when first we committed ourselves to You. Strengthen our hearts and our resolve to do the work you have laid before us. Empower us through the Holy Spirit to resist the schemes of the Devil and display Your love to the world. Remind us to speak your words and live by your ways. Make us effective ambassadors for You.

Come Lord Jesus! Come Soon!

The default condition is not non- participation. There is not even the ability to opt out. A contract is void of not entered into willingly and without coercion. Also, you can not be born into a contractual obligation. The whole slavery debate answered that question.

Now, if you accept the terms of this "contract", then I guess it is binding for you. If you become a citizen of a country and this is explicitly stated as a condition of acceptance, then it would be binding to you. It would not be binding on your child though.

This is leaving out the whole discussion of the terms of said "contract". That is a different discussion.

There is an intelligent being who has always existed. This entity is all powerful (omnipotent), all knowing (omniscient), present everywhere (omnipresent), perfect in form, thought and action, and is truth defined with no deceit at all. This is the being we call God. At one point the universe did not exist then God caused everything everywhere to come into existence. God created everything without flaw. All of creation was originally perfect in every way. God created Man and Woman and physically spent time with them in the beginning. God gave humans free will to choose whether to obey His rules and spend time with Him.

This is what I believe.

In my post I was referring to the inability to completely understand the ability of humans to have free choice if God knew ahead of time how we would choose and how this ties into predestination.

God is not an abstract idea, but rather a distinct being.

BELIEVING LIES

There are two big lies that Christians tend to believe that change how we act in a negative way:

1) Our past and present failings, inadequacy, and fallen nature make us unworthy to speak to people about Christ.

2) Even though works do not grant you entry into Heaven, you can enter into Heaven without works.

We have all heard people say that "The Church is full of hypocrites" or, "If so and so is a Christian then why does he behave that way?" Christians hear this and think that because they themselves are not perfect they are not fit to share the Gospel with their friends and family. We tend to think we will turn people away instead of draw them in to the faith. And, after all, that is the pastor's job. But what did Jesus say?

"Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” But when Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick." Matthew 9:10-12

We are all sick. None of us is worthy. It is only by the grace of God and Jesus sacrifice that we enter His presence. And He tells us:

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you...” Matthew 28:19-20

He does not say only preachers and dedicated people of the cloth should do this. This command is directed at ALL Christians. And if there is any doubt that we are all qualified, The Apostle Peter says this about ALL Christians:

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." 1 Peter 2:9

It also says in Hebrews:

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16

We are called to tell everyone about Jesus. There is no intermediary between us and Him. There is no priest to do this job for us. We are the priests, every one of us! It does not matter how much or how little you know. It does not matter what you have or have not done. Whether you are a preacher, a construction worker, a politician, a convict, a child, a grandparent, or any other kind of person, you are commanded to preach the good news to the world. There are very few things that Jesus specifically called all of us to do and this is one of the most important. It was the last thing He said before he returned to Heaven to prepare a place for us.

We are not called to save sinners. That is the job of God alone. We are told to proclaim his message. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that convicts and brings to repentance. We are just the messengers.

The Apostle Paul wrote

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own [a]reward according to his own labor." 1 Corinthians 3:6-8

Jesus made a promise along with this command. He said:

"...and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

We can not earn our way into Heaven. Nothing say or do will gain us entry. Only perfection would do this but none of us is perfect "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” If this is true, then how does one gain entry into Heaven?

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For ‘whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” Romans 10:13

Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

So there it is
1) Recognize your guilt
2) Pray to Jesus to get forgiveness for your guilt.
3) Commit to change your ways and live by God's laws.
The first act of obedience should always be baptism if possible.

Pretty simple and straight forward right?

Except that it is not that easy. While it is true that works do not get you into heaven, it is also true that if you are true to your faith, there will be works. Works are not a precondition to salvation, but rather a byproduct thereof. If you truly are saved, then your actions will reflect that change. You won't just sit on the couch and bask in your good fortune while others keep moving towards eternal damnation. It would be like watching as your neighbor's house burns down with them inside, knowing you can do something to help, and doing nothing. You CAN NOT live a life of Faith without works.

"For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." James 2:26

Jesus said

"So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." Matthew 7:17-21

There are many who think they are saved but are deceived.

I was not the originator of the exclusivity claim. I just relayed it to whoever reads this post.

There are many things that are exclusive in the world and in religion. For example, you can not both be in Los Angeles and Not be Los Angeles at the same time. An animal can not be a fish and a bird, it is either on e or the other. I am not evil just because I recognize and relay an exclusivity claim. Jesus Himself made the claim.

You can not hear what Jesus taught and said and come to the reasonable conclusion that he was anything other than Insane or actually God. He left no room for doubt about what he claimed to be. He explicitly claimed to be GOD, YHWH, The Great I AM.

Those listening to him knew this. I have accepted this as truth. Because of this, I have accepted what he taught as truth. I want to spread this truth so others can have understanding of it as well.

Which is more loving, to let someone live a lie or to educate them to the truth? To remain silent and not try to redirect their path away from danger or to speak and try to save them from folly?

I would rather be guilty of hurting someone's feeling by revealing the truth than be held responsible for their demise because I failed to warn them.

No one who believes the Biblical creation account should argue that the serpent was unintelligent. So wise could refer to understanding the world and human nature.

It Newberry days in the Bible that anything was forbidden in the garden except eating of the one tree. Whether the serpent was an intelligent animal, or Satan, or some other supernatural being makes no difference in this context because the Bible does not say anything about forbidden entrance into the garden.

I don't need to make my theology align with the beliefs of other religions. However, if Christianity is correct, then all other religions would by consequence be fabrications of Satan and of course would venerate the serpent as wise and powerful.

Baptism of the holy spirit on Pentecost with visible tongues of flames was an outward sign of divine empowerment. It was not necessary. I don't know why God chose that as the sign.

Genesis 1 does not require any speculation at all. It does not need to bee founded in or proven by science, though I am sure that with enough information it would. God's nature is consistent, unchanging, and is the essence of truth. So I believe that when all the details are finally known it will all make sense.

Defense Against Tyranny

This is a very powerful statement. When you break it down and study the implications, you begin to understand the thoughts of the founders of this country and what they intended.

1) The Government is the servant of The People.
2) The Government is not the source of power but only The People's designated executor thereof.
3) The Government, when not serving the will of The People may be changed, limited, empowered, or even abolished by The People.
4) The People, therefore, must have the means to accomplish this monumental task should it become necessary.
4.1) There must be a peaceful way - within the structure of law.
4.2) There must be a forceful way - By means of armed struggle.

One must consider the implications of these presuppositions when interpreting the Constitution and it's amendments.

The First Amendment protects speech from censorship and retribution. This is necessary for the peaceful lawful management of our government. Without a way to voice our opinions, concerns, wants, needs, etc. how would the government be able to derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed?"

The Second Amendment guarantees The People the ability to exercise their will upon the government by force of arms. It is VERY clear.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

There is no room for misinterpretation with this wording. SHALL NOT means the same thing in the second amendment that it does in the 10 Commandments. It is not subject to the wants of the State, it's Civil Servants, or members of it's military. This was added to be clear about what the government was allowed to and not allowed to do. It was not intended to limit the rights of the people, but rather to protect them from overreach from the government. While all the other activities that go along with firearm use and ownership are important, this check on the power of the State is the overriding purpose of the Second Amendment.

Without these first two protections, all the rest of them are meaningless.

What happens when a populace is disarmed by the government?

Ottoman Empire (Turkey) and the Armenian Genocide (1915–1917)

----->Disarmament: In 1911, the Ottoman government implemented strict gun control laws, prohibiting Armenians and other non-Muslims from possessing firearms without special permission, which was rarely granted. During World War I, as tensions rose, the government intensified efforts to confiscate weapons from Armenian communities, often using accusations of rebellion to justify searches and seizures.

----->Atrocities: Between 1915 and 1917, the Ottoman government orchestrated the Armenian Genocide, involving mass deportations, forced marches, and killings. Approximately 1.5 million Armenians (out of a population of about 2.5 million) were killed through massacres, starvation, and exposure. The disarmament of Armenians left them largely defenseless against state-organized violence, including attacks by "Butcher Battalions" composed of released convicts.

Nazi Germany and the Holocaust (1933–1945)

----->Disarmament: In 1931, the Weimar Republic required firearm registration due to political instability. After Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party seized power in 1933, they used these records to disarm political opponents, including Social Democrats, and later targeted Jews. The systematic disarmament of Jews and other "enemies of the state" left them vulnerable to deportation and extermination.

Soviet Union under Stalin (1929–1953)

----->Disarmament: In 1929, the Soviet government banned private firearm ownership, consolidating control under Joseph Stalin’s regime. This followed earlier policies allowing limited gun ownership under Lenin. The ban coincided with Stalin’s purges and collectivization campaigns, targeting perceived threats like kulaks (wealthy peasants).

----->Atrocities: Stalin’s regime is estimated to have killed 20 million people through purges, forced labor camps (Gulags), engineered famines (e.g., the Holodomor in Ukraine, 1932–1933, killing 3–7 million), and executions. Dissidents, ethnic minorities, and political opponents were systematically targeted.

China under Mao Zedong (1935–1976)

----->Disarmament: In 1935, the Chinese Communist Party began restricting private gun ownership as part of consolidating control during the Chinese Civil War and later the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. By the 1950s, civilian firearm possession was heavily regulated or banned.

----->Atrocities: Mao’s policies, including the Great Leap Forward (1958–1962) and the Cultural Revolution (1966–1976), led to an estimated 20–40 million deaths from famine, executions, and purges. Political opponents, intellectuals, and ethnic groups were targeted, with millions sent to labor camps or killed.

Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge (1975–1979)

----->Disarmament: The Khmer Rouge, upon taking power in 1975, confiscated weapons from civilians as they sought to create a classless agrarian society. This was part of their radical restructuring of Cambodian society, targeting urban populations and perceived enemies.

----->Atrocities: The Khmer Rouge killed an estimated 1–2 million people (out of a population of 7–8 million) through executions, forced labor, starvation, and torture. Intellectuals, professionals, and ethnic minorities were systematically eliminated in the "Killing Fields."

Uganda under Idi Amin (1971–1979)

----->Disarmament: In 1970, Uganda passed a law restricting firearm ownership, requiring licenses and regulating weapon types. When Idi Amin seized power in 1971, he enforced these restrictions selectively, disarming ethnic groups and political opponents while arming loyalists.

----->Atrocities: Amin’s regime killed an estimated 300,000 people, primarily Christians and ethnic groups like the Acholi and Lango, through massacres and purges. Political opponents were targeted, and state security forces operated with impunity.

Rwanda and the Genocide (1994)

----->Disarmament: In the lead-up to the 1994 genocide, the Rwandan government, dominated by the Hutu majority, restricted access to firearms for the Tutsi minority and political opponents. While Rwanda had no widespread gun culture, the state ensured that Tutsis and moderate Hutus had limited access to weapons, while Hutu militias (Interahamwe) were armed.

----->Atrocities: The Rwandan Genocide saw approximately 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus killed in 100 days, primarily with machetes, though firearms were used by militias and government forces. The lack of access to weapons left Tutsis unable to mount significant resistance.

If the people of these countries had not been disarmed, then they would have, at the very least, had a fighting chance to avoid genocide and atrocities. What are the odds that the government of the United States could do any of these kinds of things without major consequences in the form of civil war, insurrection, revolution, etc.? The odds right now are practically Zero. This could all change if we give up our right to "keep and bear arms." It MUST be defended. Without the ability to resist the government forcefully, the ability to resist it peacefully is dependent upon the goodwill of said government. There would be nothing to stop the government from trampling our rights. There would be no meaning to "consent of the governed" anymore.

"...A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State..."

What is this Militia? Who is in it?

Militia Act of 1792: This law, passed shortly after the Constitution’s ratification, defined the militia as “each and every free able-bodied white male citizen of the respective States, resident therein, who is or shall be of age of eighteen years, and under the age of forty-five years.” This reflects the Founders’ view that the militia encompassed most adult male citizens, excluding certain groups like women, non-whites, and those physically unfit, due to the era’s social norms.

In Federalist No. 46, Madison describes the militia as “the people themselves,” armed and ready to resist tyranny, contrasting it with a professional army.

In Federalist No. 29, Hamilton emphasizes a “well-regulated” militia, implying some organization but still rooted in the broader citizenry.

Many state constitutions, like Virginia’s, tied militia service to the right to bear arms, emphasizing that citizens formed the militia. George Mason, a key figure in Virginia’s ratifying convention, stated, “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”

Well Regulated
----->Citizens were not reliant on government-supplied arms, but rather were in possession of their own, self bought, equipment and prepared to use it.
----->Did not mean state-controlled but rather citizen-led and locally organized, as seen in the minutemen’s rapid response at Lexington and Concord.
----->Implied that militia members were trained in basic military skills—handling firearms, marching in formation, and responding to commands. This is evident in colonial muster days, where men practiced drills to ensure readiness, as described in historical accounts of New England militias. (If you examine the recent actions the government has taken against groups identified as militias, there can be little doubt that the Government not approve of this aspect. I think it is a great idea.)

As you can see, the people who wrote the documents and ratified them considered every adult (male) citizen capable of handling a firearm to be a part of the militia. This is NOT the same as the national guard. It is not an organized standing military force. It is the population itself. Thus, we have a duty, that has been handed down to us from the very beginning of this country, to keep and bear arms individually to ensure the security of our FREE state.

I don't say this lightly. This is not me looking for an excuse to have and carry guns. This is the reality of our situation. If we don't do this, then our FREE state is not secure.

Therefore, I call on all able-bodied adult citizens to acquire, maintain, and train with firearms individually. Become familiar with them and teach your children, your family, and your community about them. Call out the bootlicking supporters of tyranny for what they are and expose their ignorance and agenda. Do these things to protect our future, because if you don't, then the State run propaganda organizations masquerading as the news and the State run indoctrination centers pretending to be schools will shape the minds of these people instead. The death of a thousand cuts was started decades ago and will continue until everyone will willingly give up their rights in the name of Security and Safety. This promise of security and safety is an empty one. If you want complete security, then try living in a prison, because that is what this country will become.

One underdiscussed reason the war can't simply "stop" — especially for Ukraine — is what happens when hundreds of thousands of battle-hardened, traumatized veterans return home all at once.

That kind of mass reintegration is rarely peaceful.

Russia will face this challenge too, but it has the size and institutional control to absorb the shock — and given the broader geopolitical context, full demobilization is unlikely any time soon.

Ukraine, however, is in a far more precarious position. A far larger share of its adult male population has been mobilized — many by force. If they return in one wave, angry and disillusioned, the risk of internal collapse becomes almost programmed.

This is one of several reasons the war is unlikely to end soon — not just because of Russian ambitions or Ukrainian elite's financial dependencies, but because peace itself could unleash a different kind of chaos.
