Lithium chemistries don't care about full discharging - NMC is fine to discharge down to 2.5V, since it takes minutes to go from 3V to 2.5V and voltage instantly recovers to >3V on removal of load.

Li doesn't like sitting for hours or days or months fully discharged, as the load of the BMC and self-discharge, will slowly drain voltage down to 0V.

Full discharges just means utilizing 100% of a cycle - if a battery oversized by 50% and only discharged by 50%, then the battery lasts twice as many cycles, as 100% of a cycle equals 2x 50% cycles.

Occasionally (like monthly), you should discharge a Li battery down to 0%, then to 100%, so the proprietary electric charges fully saturate or something.

Li's capacity prematurely degrades if kept at 100% charge for months to years (but if you're doing that, clearly you don't need much capacity out of the battery)

It's only due to NMC's fragility that you need to worry about cycles - LFP chemistry is a lot tougher and can handle >4,000 cycles at 100% DoD (and 2x as many at 50% DoD) - with LFP, you can just use it without being concerned about cycles, as time self-degration is going to cause noticeable capacity loss sooner than cycling it daily.

Li batteries cannot be trickle-charged - trickle-charging NMC at 4.2V causes overcharging.

Although, Li doesn't care about floating at a constant voltage until months have passed - as charging then only happens when the battery self-discharges.

For example you can charge to 4.2V until current drops to the set point and then float at 4.16V to keep the battery charged (or ~4.05V for 80%), the battery will stay at 100%, or 80%, which is fine provided the battery is taken off the charger and then used, at least once every few weeks (this will occur to any battery that is actually used).

Peripheral software is a component of a driver if the other component of the driver won't work without it.

I wouldn't trust IOMMU to save you from proprietary malware, as well implementations very rarely get checked and all that have been checked has uncovered severe flaws.

It really just needs to be a decent quality unit (i.e. with an integrated fan) - it really isn't that expensive to solder on a fan to the right place, but it's not really worth it (a unit that bad may decide to light on fire on recharging a discharged car battery, due to terrible charge circuit design).

Typically to wipe a SSD, you do a blkdiscard, then do one complete overwrite with 0 and then do blkdiscard again and that's the best you can do.

The only issue with 0's is that the SSD software could detect that you're overwriting with 0 and not actually erase anything - so a single pass of random bytes may not be a bad idea.
