My bum knee was acting up yesterday, and I turned around at Longs Peak's keyhole to shepherd a couple younger teens back to the trailhead. Getting back down the boulder field was painful and humbling.

Kid A and two of my neighbors did summit the via the standard route, which is a mile and almost 1,000 feet D+ beyond the keyhole.

I climbed Longs in '02, but that might be my last. I'm super pumped for my 14er obsessed kid.

I highly recommend the north approach for the views.
