Then Amazon banned him from selling.<br/><br/>&#34;That was the start of looking for a Plan B,&#34; he recalls. But what began as backup planning evolved into something far more radical: selling his assets, his business, his house, and moving fully into Bitcoin.<br/><br/>&#34;Going from a steady income to no income is a big shift,&#34; he admits. &#34;But I was prepared to think long-term, ride out volatility, and start valuing everything in BTC.&#34;<br/><br/>The Human Cost<br/><br/>The transition wasn&#39;t just financial, it was social. &#34;I lost most people along the way,&#34; he says quietly. &#34;It can be a lonely path.&#34; Friends and family didn&#39;t always follow where he was going. He&#39;s made peace with that now, finding new communities &#34;aligned by values and mindset.&#34;<br/><br/>Yet there&#39;s unexpected warmth too. Strangers have bought him meals when merchants wouldn&#39;t take his sats. Fellow Bitcoiners go out of their way to help. &#34;There&#39;s a real sense of shared understanding,&#34; he says.<br/><br/>What Surprised Him<br/><br/>The kindness of the community tops the list. But he&#39;s also found something deeper: &#34;Bitcoin gives you time and space to work on yourself. You start to realise that kindness and generosity have their own kind of return.&#34;<br/><br/>He doesn&#39;t buy the &#34;HODL everything&#34; mentality. &#34;Energy should flow. Give without expecting anything back, whether that&#39;s money, time, or just presence.&#34;<br/><br/>The Frustrations<br/><br/>Not everything in Bitcoinland shines. &#34;At times it can feel quite male-dominated and a bit macho, tribal and stuck in old paradigms,&#34; he notes. He&#39;d like to see more families, more women, more diverse perspectives. The obsessive price-watching and political tribalism? &#34;I don&#39;t resonate with that.&#34;<br/><br/>He also rejects the &#34;Bitcoiners vs. normies&#34; divide. &#34;Ultimately, we&#39;re all one,&#34; he says. &#34;Or as some would say, we are all Satoshi.&#34;<br/><br/>Where He Feels at Home<br/><br/>Not in conference halls, despite planning to drive his van to Bitcoin Prague this June. &#34;In nature,&#34; he says, &#34;surrounded by open, free, sovereign people.&#34;<br/><br/>The Doubts<br/><br/>Has he questioned his choice? &#34;Yes. But I don&#39;t believe there are wrong choices, only lessons. Nothing is guaranteed. Bitcoin is a path I&#39;ve chosen fully.&#34;<br/><br/>His Advice to the Hesitant<br/><br/>&#34;Real change rarely comes from half measures. At some point, you have to commit.&#34;<br/><br/>And then, unexpectedly: &#34;Watch the film Tin Cup.&#34;<br/><br/>On Actually Using Bitcoin<br/><br/>For those who stack but never spend, he has direct words: &#34;Use it or lose it.&#34; Small groups acting together create change. &#34;If 10, 20, or 50 people regularly choose not to spend at places that don&#39;t accept Bitcoin, then things will shift.&#34;<br/><br/>Right now, he&#39;s living that truth, passing through the Isle of Man, updating BTC Map listings, and occasionally offering to wash dishes for a meal if that&#39;s what it takes. &#34;I&#39;d much rather be adding merchants than removing them,&#34; he laughs.<br/><br/>But first: reality.
