On a more serious note, I can imagine Teto's single user instance just being an infinity log of one hellthread after another, but it was probably not (just) that: Single user instances were actively put into ban lists shared by the other side regardless of content. They just assumed a single user was not okay because there would be no administrator they could put pressure on.

You didn't need to do anything, they just indexed you into one of their preemptive blocklists by naming your instance and writing: "Single user instance". Saw it a lot in like 2021-2022

Flatpak doesn't ship with a whole kernel setup (Although it could eventually be developed to do that), and even if it did, there's plenty of wrapping methods translating kernel API calls that you wouldn't need a whole kernel with it anyway in most cases.

Flatpak ships with a self-contained glibc environment and anything else it needs as required by flatpak packagers

See it the other way: You don't want an app with internet access being able to list and be able to upload whatever is on your home directory (And potentially beyond), not to mention any other info about your system that you might not want it to know, or letting it being able to do trace calls to your kernel if you set your permissions too lax.
With things like Steam, you're normally giving an huge proprietary blob with full internet access read and write permissions into your entire home directory, not to mention direct hardware access and plenty more. Flatpak can reduce your exposure there

Thus, a shipping service/courier would have picked up the package, went through the port's custom, and then sent the package to Slovakia to pass through Slovak customs too

If this was by seamail, of course, I'm guessing that would have been the route

They recently managed to re-release Pandora Tomorrow (2003?) on Steam, which was in licensing hell since forever, and Ubisoft being Ubisoft tied it to their own Ubisoft Connect platform as DRM and you need an account with them, while both the very first Splinter Cell title and Chaos Theory are without Ubisoft Connect requirements because they were released on Steam before Ubisoft became current Ubisoft

You should get the very first Splinter Cell title on GOG, then look on moddb for the asset package that allows to create a Pandora Tomorrow install from the baseline Splinter Cell install (They were on the same engine), and finally get Chaos Theory on Steam

As for the games themselves, they will never be as slow as being played at 20 fps on your underpowered 2000s rig with a big CRT that made them extremely dark due to innate high contrast (Which explains why Fisher had that little light rectangle on his back to help the player trace his own character), but still, they're as hardcore stealth as it gets, but you'll probably cringe now at seeing certain agencies being depicted as the good guys in a story. And dynamic lighting without ray tracing, another lost technology from the 2000s
