I wanted to reinterpret the topic of money and its history, and I ended up in 19th-century London.

With the Bank of England, London is the financial center of the world. New York is on the rise, and in Europe, Germany has defeated France, and Vienna is currently experiencing a startup boom...

Join John & Jack on their journey and discover what the world was like back then and how traders and businessmen had to navigate the uncertain financial world.

The first part of the story just went live on Substack.

State overreach is on the rise...
The need to protect ourselves is growing...(sovereign individual principle)

Will the state be unstoppable?
Will we be able to protect ourselves?

Will AI enable the existence of a sovereign individual?
Will nation-states still exist in the future?
Will Bitcoin prevail, or will it simply be integrated into the existing financial system?

Many questions, as so much is happening.

Time to organize these topics in my mind and write a new article on Substack.

I'm starting a new long-term project.

I know you're thinking, “Wait, you're not building in the Bitcoin space...” But... we first need to get more people to move away from fiat so they can build and believe in Bitcoin.

It's a mission that can be pursued over the next 50 years and beyond.

A never-ending job...

I couldn't make it this year, but I did get a bit of FOMO along the way.

🙏 Please give me a moment of your attention 👀

🚀 Whether you know it or not, Bitcoiners, companies, influencers, and the German community have joined forces to fight for the maintenance of the one-year holding period for Bitcoin 🧡

🎯 The goal of the petition, which will soon be open for signing, is to collect 30,000 signatures.

🤔 You might be wondering, “Wait, is this just about Germany and the tax treatment of Bitcoiners living there?!”

No, it’s about sending a message—and not just from the German-speaking community, but from all Bitcoiners worldwide.

👊 A sign of resistance and protest to show that the community is here, alive, and won’t just take everything lying down.

🚨 The initiative has already gained many supporters from the business community, YouTubers, influencers, and private individuals. And more supporters are joining every day.

You can support it too (yes, you) by spreading the word and, next, signing the petition.

📢 Important: Anyone can sign the petition, and you don’t have to be a resident of Germany.

The initiative's website is currently being translated into English and will be available soon.

There, you can learn more about the initiative and its scope.

As soon as the petition is open for signatures, I'll get back to you and explain how you can sign it!

🧡 The global Bitcoin community is characterized by unity, determination, and strength. Now is your chance to bring these values to life by supporting this initiative.

We’re counting on you! Every supporter and signatory matters.
Spread the word and support us!

Thank you!

https://btcprague.com/marek-szabelski-how-to-find-a-job-in-the-bitcoin-space/

⏱️ BTCPrague (nprofile…py4c) is just 3 weeks away.

🥷 It’s time to take action.

🔶 Step 1:
Download the official app at: https://btcprague.com/official-btc-prague-event-app/
✍ Fill out your profile with a photo and a description. Who are you, what can you do, and whom are you looking to meet at the conference?
👉 This is the only way to give others a chance to find you and message you before the conference.

🔶 Step 2:
Take the initiative!

👀 Reach out to interesting people yourself and try to set up meetings with them. Ideally, it should be a specialized topic that you’re both familiar with. This creates a valuable exchange that benefits both sides.

🔥 If you’re looking for a job in the Bitcoin space, check out the companies at: https://btcprague.com/partners/

📢 These companies have booths on-site and, depending on their size, 2 to 10 people working at those booths. Take a close look at #LinkedIn and the companies’ websites. Who is responsible for HR, what positions are available, and can you apply on your own initiative or volunteer?

💊 If you’ve identified the right people, reach out to them. If LinkedIn doesn’t work, try email or Nostr. If you send them 21 sats via a like on Nostr, they’ll definitely notice you.

💡 If you’re looking for a job in marketing, try to set up a meeting with the marketing lead or a marketing employee at the company. They’ll tell you things that aren’t in the job description, and best of all, they’ll remember you personally.

🔶 Step 3:
Depending on the type of ticket you have, make the most of the first day to schedule as many meetings and conversations as possible.

😉 On the first and second days, people are still relatively fresh and full of energy. By the last day of the conference, everyone is already tired and has little time or interest in hours-long conversations.

🗣️ Use the conference primarily for networking and in-person conversations. The presentations will be recorded, and you can watch them from the comfort of your own home in a month.

👥 The people you “missed” might never come back, and you might never get the chance to talk to them again 🙈

🔶 Step 4
Check out the side events and pick the 2–3 that appeal to you most.
https://btcprague.com/side-events/

❄️ A cool, relaxed atmosphere 🍻 often leads to better conversations, and you’ll get to meet lots of great people. Plus, it’s your chance to strike up casual conversations with them.

🔶 Step 5
Generate QR codes for LinkedIn, Nostr, Substack, and X. Save the QR codes to your phone screen. If someone wants to connect with you, all you have to do is pull out your phone.

🔶 Final step
Be proud of yourself. You got the most out of the conference and weren't just there to drink beer 😉 😁

😎 If you still need a ticket for the conference, use the code: MAREK to get a discount on your ticket - https://btcprague.com/ticket-types/

Enjoy your time in Prague!

💡 “The most important trade an individual engages in is the one with his or her future self.”

😉 Very few people know this, but the founder of the Austrian School, Carl Menger, was born on Polish territory. At that time, in 1840, it was Galicia and belonged to the Austrian Empire.

😼 The Polish territories were divided up at that time; otherwise, Menger might have been born Polish, and we would have had the “Polish School of Economics” today 😸

🧡 The ideas of this school are still alive in Poland today, and there are several institutes, meeting places, and even a conference that will take place in 2027 in my hometown of Katowice 🔎

📚 Because this school and its ideas are a blessing for the soul in these times, I will be posting some thoughts, quotes, and ideas here over the coming weeks.

⏱️ Since 2022, the team led by TomekK (nprofile…e5aa) & AZA_21m (nprofile…w6dh) has been there for you, bringing together creative Bitcoiners and creating a mix of culture, cinema, music, and independence year after year.

🎯 This year’s edition of BitcoinFilmFest (nprofile…lh3f) will take place from June 4–7 at Kinoteka in vibrant Warsaw.

🔥 Tickets are still available at https://bitcoinfilmfest.com/checkout/

😉 I’ve also heard that the goodie bag for each participant will be very valuable again this year.

🤥 But it’s not about the goodie bag—it’s about the 🫂 people, the conversations 🗣️ , and the vibe 🎉 you know from Bitcoin meetups and conferences.

🧡 You’ll gain energy, focus, and insight, as well as valuable new connections. That’s what makes BitcoinFilmFest (nprofile…lh3f) priceless.

🥷 Show off your PoW (Proof of Work) and network all three days so everyone knows who you are, what you do, and what you’re good at.

🧡 For the community, for the companies, and for you.

Yes, we'll have to wait and see the details. In Poland, there's a 19% capital gains tax with no tax-free allowance, while in the Czech Republic, profits are tax-free after a three-year holding period. Some Bitcoiners will also be drawn to Prague for work. A Bitcoin-only ecosystem has already been established there.

It was a good year. I have many wonderful memories.

⏱️ Tomorrow is World Thrift Day...

💡 What was originally intended to promote the idea of saving is now almost exclusively recognized and celebrated in developing and emerging countries.

🙈 And in industrialized countries? Here, the idea of spending or speculative investment is proclaimed as the norm. Saving? That would hurt the economy and lead to more unemployment, which is unthinkable.

👀 If people and children knew that there is already a new savings technology that makes saving worthwhile and sensible again

💪 It would be wonderful to see courageous, helpful, and tech-savvy providers who can bring saving back into people's lives.

It is also our responsibility to raise awareness of this topic among parents.

Initiatives such as btcverband (nprofile…vcq8) (German Bitcoin Association) or Bitcoin Association Switzerland should also address this topic. The subject is part of education.

🧡 Who among you would like to teach your children about saving and is already doing so?
💛 Who would welcome and promote a Bitcoin savings campaign on World Savings Day?

🙀 Okay, I have to dive right in here and face the monster properly...

Characteristics of the Federal Reserve System:

🔸 He is incapable of achieving his goals
🔸 It is a cartel acting against the public interest
🔸 It is the greatest instrument of usury
🔸 He is responsible for the most dishonest of the sub-taxes
🔸 It is an incentive for war
🔸 He is responsible for destabilizing the economy
🔸 It is a tool of totalitarianism

🤩 Polish people are moving back to Poland!

🔎 Since around 2015, fewer and fewer Polish people have been coming to Germany. In 2024, the balance will be negative for the first time in 30 years.

🙈 That would have been impossible when I came to Germany in 2002.
Poland is still going strong and wants to make a difference, and people are enthusiastic and willing to get things done.
💡 Germany is partly sluggish, saturated, and paralyzed by bureaucracy. Unfortunately, the trend is clearly pointing in that direction 〽️

🥨 Munich and Bavaria, with their proximity to Austria, Italy, and the mountains, are still wonderful places to live. But so is Poland.

🔶 Take the time to visit Poland, whether for business or pleasure. It's worth it! You'll be amazed. 😉

💡 329.000 people – For me, that's the number of the day!

🧡 According to Simon Collins' study, “Bring Only What You Can Carry,” many individuals have utilized Bitcoin to secure assets, make cross-border payments, or establish financial independence in their host country. The actual number could be significantly higher. 🙊

📢 There, you will find a few tips on how to position yourself towards Bitcoin companies and increase your chances of being hired.

😉 Don't worry, but the process of finding a job in the space can take a while.
💡 You should be able to stand for a topic and be recognized in the space for it. The ability to share your knowledge with others is also important.

🙏 Thanks to Matyas Kuchar (nprofile…x02g) for the opportunity! Judging by the current number of views on YouTube, I can see that this topic is of interest to many people 👀. That doesn't surprise me 😁

🔶 Education & Learning

- Read over 20 books on Bitcoin, monetary history, and economics
- Between 5.000-10.000 hours spent on the history of money, the FIAT system, Bitcoin technology, the Austrian School of Economics, YouTube, podcasts, etc.
- Participated in and mentored the Bitcoin Talents program
- Gradually focused on the important topics in life
- Learned more about money and finance than during my studies and over 8 years at the bank 😁

🔶 Work / Business

- Collaboration on projects (Bitvocation, Bitcoin Talents, Bitcoin Bundesverband, etc.)
- Participation in conferences as a representative of the company
- Speaker performances & podcast recordings
- Social media content and articles about Bitcoin

🔶 Society / Communities

- Presence and contact with positive-minded people
- Contributing to the community, e.g., as a mentor or in the area of Bitcoin jobs
- Regular attendance at conferences and meetups
- Personal growth through the highly educated community = awesome people 🤩 --> significant added value 🧡

🔶 Activities & Hobbies

- Main hobby for 3.5 years
- The feeling of having a fulfilling activity and topic again
- Permanent training of the brain (thinking, understanding, reflecting)
- Time and energy invested wisely

🔶 Finance

- Reorganization of finances
- "I am my own bank" approach
- Low time preference
- A deeper understanding of money, value, saving, time and energy, etc.

🧡 That's what I've learned from Hashtag#Bitcoin over the last 3.5 years. Based on the 10 areas of life I wrote about in my articles.

👉 More at: https://medium.com/@szabelskimarek

💊 Part 1/2. The second part will be posted on Monday; otherwise, the post will be too long 🙈

🔶 Area: Human needs

- Control and understanding of the topic of time and energy = money
- Self-realization as a mentor and speaker to pass on what I've learned
- Belonging to a community (Bitcoin Space) that looks positively toward the future
- Personal development in many important areas of life
- Financial control and “be your own bank” approach

🔶 Health & Vitality

- Enough sleep and sufficient breaks (but could be improved)
- Exercise and proper nutrition (physical fitness and general well-being)
- Avoiding negative news coverage and the use of certain social media channels

🔶 Spouse or Partner

- Change and positive influence through the transfer of knowledge
- Setting common financial goals (in progress)
- Development of protective mechanisms against inflation and currency devaluation

🔶 Family

- Building a preference for the future
- Better security and predictability
- Orange pilling (successful)
- Awareness of the problems and dependencies of this world

🔶 Friends

- New valuable friendships
- Profound conversations about the FIAT financial world and Bitcoin solutions
- Control and dependence on current financial system are deeply rooted

👀 In the Bitcoin space, we can talk about many important issues such as self-custody, multisig solutions, bitcoin-backed loans, lightning integration, the best ways to buy Bitcoin, and non-KYC exchanges, and these topics are also important (don't get me wrong)

🫵 But one subject remains the most urgent, and that is 👉 financial education 👈 . Every child should start learning about this when their parents allow them to have their first smartphone.

🙈 Unfortunately, many adults remain at the savings account level and don't progress beyond that.

🫡 I'm looking forward to doing more for proper financial education again soon. Very soon...

💊 Because it remains the most important issue... 📢

You are looking for new guests for your talks? This time I'm posting a little self-promotion 😼

🎙️/ 🎥 After my first successful appearances as a speaker at Bitcoin conferences, on podcasts, and in talks, I am looking for further opportunities to share my knowledge and experience in podcasts and video talks.

🧡 Topics I like to talk about:

- Financial independence and knowledge building
- Bitcoin and its solutions
- Becoming a self-learning individual
- History of money
- Influence of bad money on us humans
- How can I find a job in the Bitcoin space?
- How does Bitcoin influence other areas of your life?
- How can I actively participate in the Bitcoin space?
- etc.

🚨 All this with my background and roots as a boy who grew up in communist Eastern Europe, values personal freedom, and has seen the FIAT system at work through my many years of working at a bank 🏦

🙏 I am very pleased to be able to share my insights and opinions with even more interested people through these formats.

🧡 Thank you to everyone who has already made performances and invitations possible for me in 2025. I really appreciate it 🫶

To a successful second half of 2025!

🔸 The ECB cheerfully organizes design competitions for new euro banknotes
🔸 Inflation is often in double digits, yet they still communicate as if 2-3% is the target
🔸 Politicians only have wishes, but no solutions. The money-printer (brrrr...) in the US and EU will continue to push ahead at full speed
🔸 CBDSs should be used in the EU as the main solution to the problem
🔸 Retailers are reducing the size of their products while simultaneously increasing their prices
🔸 The hamster wheel is spinning faster and faster, and many are already reaching their limits
🔸 No one feels that concrete solutions that work will be developed soon
🔸 The rich and capitalists are still being blamed for inflation

🙈 The list can be further supplemented with relevant points...and Henry Ford is turning in his grave.

😼 I believe the saying: “Things have to get worse before they get better” is still very true.

Or do you have a different opinion? 🧐
