Not 100% sure what you mean, but clicking on any reply will set it as the root, and every reply also has an "open parent/root" button too
Flotilla 1.13.0 is out on zapstore and web — biggest changes are the addition of bookmarks, refinements to the home page's microblogging features (good enough now for me to quit using coracle).
Full list:
* Add bookmarks, with folders and a bookmark manager
* Redesign the chat and room composers
* Support paid spaces, with checkout and relay notifications
* Mute people from their profile menu
* Choose what the home network feed and notifications tab include, and merge notifications about the same note
* Show replies in the network feed under the note they answer
* Rework the home inbox to include space activity, and add a relay settings button to the network section
* Spotlight screen shares in calls
* Reorder lists by dragging on touch screens
* Keep a space's content across a reload, and keep working when local storage fails
* Show room references as links, every name in a reaction tooltip, and open a DM's message menu by clicking it
* Cap comment indentation on narrow screens
How did I now know about What We Do In the Shadows? Just watched the movie, so funny.
A few relays I run that my fellow nostr developers might find useful:
- wss://messaging.coracle.social — auth and pow protected NIP 17 relay
- wss://indexer.coracle.social — a strfry relay that stores only kind 10002 and 10009. It replicates other indexer relays on the network.
- wss://bucket.coracle.social — you can put anything here, but it gets deleted after 30 seconds. Good for testing and nip 46 signers.
Just uninstalled coracle. Flotilla has feature parity for my purposes. Feels good.
Flotilla 1.12.0 is out!
The big E this time is the addition of social media features, including notifications. Flotilla might just become my new daily driver, replacing Coracle.
Other garbage:
* Share your screen in calls on all platforms
* Redesign the content library
* Add a location to profiles and a member map to the directory
* Add a notifications tab to the home network section
* Add a create post button to the home page and profiles
* Remind people about calendar events they're going to
* Record voice notes in a dialog, and go straight to the call in voice rooms
* Add a nature theme, more emoji and kaomoji
* Show rich link previews for links to spaces, rooms and profiles
* Keep a message in the composer when it fails to send, instead of dropping it
* Only raise notifications for new messages
* Keep private mutes when saving content settings, and handle muted words from other clients
* Keep edited listings and calendar events in their room
* Fix stalled uploads, quotes that hadn't loaded, misplaced comments and the emoji picker overflowing
Thanks for using it (if you do)
Just published pi-nostr, a series of packages that glue pi to nostr.
https://gitea.coracle.social/coracle/pi-nostr
Running an agent that speaks nostr (nip 17, 29, and kind 1) is now a single command:
`npx @pi-nostr/cli`
The above command uses pi-durable as a framework, which is moderately useful. I'm working on a much more complete nostr-native harness.
You can also install the same nostr abilities that power the above agent command to your local instance of pi:
```pi install npm:@pi-nostr/pi-nip17```
```pi install npm:@pi-nostr/pi-nip29```
```pi install npm:@pi-nostr/pi-notes```
Here's a quick demo video to show just how easy this is:
Well, maybe not any more. Pi durable looks pretty good.
I was building my own agent at https://gitea.coracle.social/coracle/flotilla-agent and probably will continue to do so, but the design is quite similar to pi-durable. A little less minimalistic, but it's deeply integrated into nostr, so it might still have a place.
New version of Coracle is out: 0.6.38
* Upgrade to welshman 0.12
* Fix retrying a failed direct message on the publishes page
* Retry decrypting direct messages instead of dropping them
* Back off when reconnecting to unreachable relays
* Upgrade insecure requests to https
Are you teaching your kids to program, or prompt? I just built https://ptut-dungeoncrawler.onrender.com/ for my son and I can't shake the feeling that I'm like a dad in the 90's teaching his kid to write assembly code.
At the same time, I don't think we as a society have a grasp on how to approach LLMs in a healthy way. This new way of working is still routinely destroying the minds of professionals with decades of experience. I'm not about to unleash it on my kid.
Are there better skill sets to teach your kids so they can be digitally literate in the future? AI architecture? Hardware? Philosophy?
It occurred to me recently that ideas are like technology. They are both ways to scale influence in a way that escapes their creator/designer, modified by their users, and create an ecology of unintended consequences that obscures their own influence.
@nprofile…xlpv I've begun vibing a game for my kids. It's a low-poly racing/combat game. Fun to be able to produce something so cool for them.
@nprofile…y484 I am trying to use ngit with a non-ngit origin, and it looks like some checks assume a particular git setup. My origin is set to my gitea repository, and `upstream` is set to fiatjaf's ngit repository. When I try to push to `upstream/pr/listmethodassignees` I get:
Error: cannot push 'refs/heads/pr/listmethodassignees' as proposal as branch isn't ahead
of 'origin/master'
Tools for conviviality is a watershed for me in how I think about technology
I am looking forward to it!
Haven't had a chance to crack it open yet, but I have high expectations
Books by Ivan Illich vs books about Ivan Illich
I read Malcolm Guite's Galahad and the Grail recently (which I highly recommend), and now I'm seeing Arthurian legends everywhere. Lord of the Rings is an Arthurian legend. There are Arthurian elements in LeGuinn's cosmology. I'm tempted to think at this point that the entire fantasy genre is really just a secularization of Arthur.
Just released https://gitea.coracle.social/coracle/nostadon, which allows you to replicate your posts from nostr to mastodon. Why would you want to do this? I don't know, but you can now.
New Coracle release: 0.6.37 with some bugfixes, maintenance, and special requests.
* Support encrypted files in direct messages
* Add a setting for turning off link previews
* Add social preview tags for shared coracle.social links
* Rebuild the app on welshman 0.10
* Cache events separately for each logged-in account
* Remove relay reviews
* Fix comment tags
* Fix errors when signed out
* Reduce bandwidth and speed up page loads
Transcription, TTS and STT are my only three use cases currently
This is my kind of AI. This could the humanism, the speed, cost, lock in, maybe even alignment. Going to go try it.
New release of Flotilla is out! This is the first primarily clanker-written version, so it's a combination of bugfixes, splashy but poorly thought out features, and busy work (many tests, much CI).
My favorite new features are related to dictation and TTS — if you enter an OpenRouter API key into your settings, you'll now have the ability to ask flotilla to read a message to you. You can also dictate a message, transcribe it, and send it as a chat message.
Lots of redesign too, making classifieds, threads, and calendars more useful. I've also gotten rid of the dumb home page and added an inbox view which spans all your spaces, as well as a kind 1 feed from people you follow.
But wait, there's more:
* Replace the home page with a dashboard of unread conversations, space activity and a network feed
* Redesign the calendar with month, week and agenda views, and add RSVPs
* Redesign classifieds as a browsable marketplace
* Rework threads as one continuous list with unread indicators on every board
* Add slash commands
* Add read out loud and voice dictation
* Add a desktop app with Linux, Windows and macOS packaging
* Add relay data import and export to the hosting panel
* Add a mute setting for rooms
* Show NIP-38 statuses and a pinned note on profiles
* Rework search dialogs
* Improve link previews, falling back to an inline link when one fails
* Persist direct messages so history survives relay retention
* Add an image by upload or url from one dialog, and play audio attachments inline
* Let space icons be dragged to reorder in the sidebar
* Open the space menu in a drawer instead of navigating away from the room
* Fix push notification delivery, taps and badge counts
* Update welshman library to 0.10.9
* Performance improvements to feeds, room chat and reactions
* Add an end-to-end test suite covering the user story catalog
Out on zapstore and web, ios and play store soon.
Primal is stuck in the past with insecure dms
@nprofile…ujpr you've started sending me mangled base64 nip 17 DMs. Please stop whatever weird thing you're doing and choose a different kind.
