Hey Nostr. How do you consume news in 2026?
What's one item that you own that you couldn't do without? #asknostr
The Higher Low saves every sat his music earns. One day, he says, it pays for the next album.

Kinda amazed that there are still people getting COVID boosters.
Good morning and pura vida, Nostr! No doom. We must bloom. 🫂🤙🏻💜
maybe the reason tech bros and perpetually online people call nostr a ghost town is because there are no greed incentivized attention capture algos and you actually have to build relationships to have people to talk to.
People making new apps, why aren't you adding Pomegranate support?
1) I didn't know it existed (now you know);
2) I think it has a fatal flaw (please say what is it);
3) I am phisophically opposed to Google (Pomegranate supports other providers, and even no providers at all, it can even be made to support phone numbers, a single password, an email, a set of friends' keys, you name it, but none of that is active yet because there is not enough interest);
4) I think users have to be trained to type private keys everywhere;
5) I like Amber (I've heard this one before so I included it here even though it makes no sense).

We spent 20 years developing social networks, and we overcorrected into ads. We are going to spend the next 20 years developing digital isolationism (e.g., talk only to your agents all day long).
I'm looking at the polls, but just wondering where everyone here see's the midterms going?
Been liking chess puzzles lately. This one was cool imo.
White to move, and win!

Good morning. 6:15 AM. Just above 50 out there. I was out there at 4:30. There was a light mist falling. Flat surfaces were wet.
The Brewers won last night. They started at 4 PM. We watched it as a family. It was fun. Everyone looks forward to it.
A few months back I was the only one who was familiar with the players. Not anymore. That's the way it was back in '82. I remember my Grandma telling my Dad about a game she stayed up and watched while the Brewers were making their World Series run back in '82. She never watched baseball.
It seems we get swept up in athletic excellence, especially when it's the home team. It's golden as the poets say.
Off to the mail trail. I hope you have a great day!

I think only 20% of the total population is capable of forming their own opinion.
If you control most of the 20%, you get to manage the 80%.
I'm all about empowering individuals but I'm starting think that the 80% need to be managed.
It's not separation, not judgement.
It feels like this is an ancient dilemma.
"nobody uses nostr" and yet I can't keep up with all the new stuff going on with the protocol and all the new software being dropped every day and I do nostr dev full time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t need everyone on Nostr to like my memes. I really appreciate those of you who engage and have fun with them, who reciprocate the good hearted shitposting, and especially those of you who zap my memes. It blows my mind and never ceases to amaze me when people are willing to do that. What I don’t understand are the people who insist, because they dislike my memes, that I instead make content they will enjoy. Why not just move on? Or better yet, why not just make the content themselves? Maybe it’s a skill issue 😂🤷♂️

Omandroid has a new name: Omarchy Mobile 📱
It was never Android. It's native Omarchy (Arch Linux ARM, Hyprland, Omarchy's own packages) on a mainline Linux kernel, right on a Pixel 7 Pro. No Android underneath.
New repos (old links redirect):
https://github.com/derekross/omarchy-mobile
https://github.com/derekross/linux-omarchy-mobile
Hardware: display at 120 Hz, GPU, touch, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio, battery, haptics, torch, sensors and auto-rotate, GPS, NFC (read/write tags) and fingerprint unlock (opt-in) all work. Speakers work but are still quiet. Ultrawide camera works; main and front are in progress. The modem now boots and talks to the phone; calls, SMS and data need a SIM, that's next. Sleep is in progress.
The last two days in software:
• swipeable home screens with ~50 built-in widgets, from @simonschubert's Omalauncher
• "Create with AI": describe a widget, Omarchy's default agent builds it
• editable quick settings
• one app per screen
• mirror the phone's screen to your laptop over USB
And an installer! I'm super happy to annonce this. It can all be done with a few commands. GUI/website later. Build the root image on your laptop, then tools/install-phone asks for your user name, password and Wi-Fi, checks the phone, and writes only slot B and userdata. Stock Android stays on slot A as your way back. First boot sets everything up, and tools/phone-provision pulls the phone-specific firmware from your own Pixel factory image (no Google files redistributed). The first clean install with it is happening on my phone as I write this. Steps are in the README.
Fair warning: this is EXPERIMENTAL! Unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone, expect rough edges, Pixel 7 Pro only for now. Pixel 6 and 8a ports are starting via contributors. Addtional contributors welcome 🤙

I always get hyper aware when I see paragliders from the windows. Watching them to make sure they land on the right side of that hill and wonder if they see into the windows. Puts me on notice every time. 👀

Are we still recommending self-custody to normies, or have we given up? I'm kind of in the "give up" camp.
