I don’t know who Barbara is, but what is it with all the women doing disgusting shit to their faces? They all look worse than if they had just let natural beauty shine through.
A weekend is a bit of a stretch to let Claude run wild and expect everything is going to be good when you come back.
I did the other rear brake pad replacement today on my 2019 Equinox. 30 minutes. Now that I know the secret handshake, it was fast. It’s a good thing I did. I found the same thing as last night where one of the pads had the friction material separated from the backing plate. Probably the previous owner used cheap brake pads.
Don’t cheap out on car parts if you can avoid it. Cheap parts are cheap for a reason. I’ve learned that cheap parts often cost you time in installation, performance, and present maintenance issues.
I noticed one of the cars was making some noise with the rear brakes that sounded like the pad was about gone. Easy job, right? I've done these many times over the years. What's different with this one (2019 Chevy Equinox) is this vehicle has an electronic parking brake system. First time I've had to work on a car with one of those. I look up how to deal with this system and it sounds simple for those with the tools, which I happen to have; a mid-range code scanner tool which can access all the different systems onboard. I command the brake system to retract the parking brake pistons and it does so. So far so good. Except not. It retracted the piston but not far enough for me to slide it over the new pads. This turns into eventually the brake computer complaining something cryptic. Looking online it seems like maybe it's the motor gears are stripped out, or it could just be a calibration issue, but nobody can really tell me. Eventually I find that I'm able to push the piston further back into the housing and reassemble the brake. Still, the brake computer is complaining, but a code scan just shows some cryptic message that's a historical message and not current, but it won't let me clear it. After having tried the parking brake calibration multiple times previously, which didn't do anything, finally this time I must have had the magic sequence of things and it runs a calibration. Then it was happy. Three hours later I'm done with ONE brake. I'm going to try to get the other one done tomorrow before that car leaves for a few weeks. Hopefully it'll go a lot faster.
I learned some new stuff so that was good. I'm tired. It's 11 PM so time to call it a night.
GN all.
Very cool! I've been wanting to get into LoRa devices and mesh.
You do have a point. This is one of those subtle dumbing down of people things.
I never trusted using those because it was served by someone else to my web browser. I didn’t know enough about web technologies to know for certain that someone else wasn’t getting my private key. In theory I knew the script was run locally in the browser, but I never trusted those.
Listening to the recent podcast with @nprofile…kutu and @nprofile…32ff, I’ve learned that I am indeed a cypherpunk. Listening to Max describe it checked all the boxes for me. I never gave what it meant to be a cypherpunk much thought before, but now I know. Great podcast!
Somehow I graduated from High School. I did college for a little bit here and there but I have no degree. Nobody’s ever asked me to give a graduation speech, but at my home school co-op, I did get interviewed yesterday in front of a class about how I got to where I am now without a degree. I ran the clock out so I guess it was a success. A few of the students thanked me for showing up.
Seems like a step in the right direction.
24 h pulse is definitely the star feature of Jumble
Excellent! Where do I line up?
The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know.
And somehow I doubt the Amish are going to do much to comply, nor should they.
They would tax the oxygen you breathe if they thought they could get away with it. Actually, I would expect to see this on some cheap airline first as a way to monetize the engine(s).
Try Hermes if you haven't already, then the agent has shell itself and you don't even need to paste anything 😀
You’re gonna love our pizza.
GN.
What are you talking about?
Anyone who thinks it’s dark times because they can’t abort their babies needs his or her head examined. The dark times comes from the fact that these people don’t have an issue with abortion and think they should be entitled to it. Assholes.
