All structures & isms put in place to stop the takers taking more than they need, rely on certain powerful individuals acting honestly & morally. Every implementation has been corrupted with time.
I can't see a way around this other than tying decision making to proof of work.
I'm talking in the context of building a local & aligned community.
A mistrial doesn't mean legal though. It's more in the spotlight though, for sure, as a possible way to escape whatever life has thrown at you. I wonder what the trends in familialcide are through the ages 🤔
He clearly doesn't follow Sats4Supps, granted I've never posted a thing with it but it has an identity 💅
I find too much joy in Nostr to try and make money off of it, so far lol don't rule me out tho 🤪 reply IM IN for my eBook
Someone should tell poor ole Charlie
Well this week, a man killed his wife and daughter in SF and a woman killed her husband and child somewhere else. It's truly insane. I keep wondering if this is an effect of inflation, people losing their marbles as the pressure is ratcheted up, being pushed into higher levels of stress and lower levels of socioeconomic success.
It's like I see an American man or woman murdering their entire family every few days now. Two this week.
Not really, judgement is always subjective as well.
I guess my core beef is with the assumption that things are either good or bad. It's the most simplistic & subjective dualism I can think of & I equate it's use to an expression of preference.
I know the definition of judgement has a few meanings in different contexts. I'm also aware of the irony of basically saying that judgement is bad. Judgement arises from the belief that things are unfolding in a less than perfect way. I don't want to reinforce that belief within me. I don't want to judge.
I don't need to judge anyone or anything in order to express my preferences.
So to you, saying preference is more subjective and judgment is more objective? I can see that.

I will never say this is AI. It very obviously isn't 🔥
I'm talking capacity, as in they could in theory develop an opinion of their own.
That seems pretty bleak to me but also shows how important it is to voice your own unique perspective.
How important it is to cleanse your feed also.

Pre coffee EU morning thoughts 🤫 (this was formulated before I saw your reply which I'll have to think on more too now lol)
I pull much of my thinking on this from Ken Wilber's Integral Theory. In the green stage of development, egalitarianism, equality, sensitivity, and consensus are valued above all else. But the ironic part is, if the lower stages aren't integrated, then those with green as their stage will still carry red inside and their red urges will usurp their efforts. Red meaning power hungry and egocentric which becomes shadow material if not appropriately integrated. We see this in leftists who believe in equality so much that they will burn down an entire town to get it, for instance. Equality as the value, destruction as the method. I've also seen this thinking first hand in the spiritual community, and they get railroaded when they deny that there is value in "lower" stages of development. There is no reason good enough to go to war, because war is bad. But really, there isn't? Defending what you love is healthy red, and denying it doesn't make it go away.
I'd even use OpenSats as a green example. A non profit that values openness and stewardship has had its integrity called into question after a red way of thinking, egoism, power, dominance, territory sat on the board and had publically attacked a competing project. And green believes in trust over verification and is reluctant to confront, allowing the organization to be influenced by a very red way of thinking and not addressing the conflict of interest until a catastrophe forced their hand. Don't trust, verify requires making judgment acceptable in order to discern and protect what green values most.
Sometimes I think we fully agree, I just don't mind saying judgment and you have a strong aversion to the word, as if you judge judgment 🤭 jkjk I know I keep circling it with you refining myself and my thoughts as I go 🫂 so thank you for that
I still don't think judgment in this sense is bad. Moreover, it is healthy and necessary. It is discernment that sees the value in these stages of thinking, but also realizes that they are less inclusive in their way of thinking. Is no view better than any other view? Is being non judgmental better than being judgmental?
Yes me too & I don't see separation as bad or unifying good either. I feel like I've been separated from something beautiful & I'd like to come back to that more. Preference, not judgement.
To me it's almost like describing the difference between porn & art. It's not that one is bad & the other beautiful but there is a distinction & a frequency to both.
Do you remember which was the first client you used with google login?
I think only 20% of the total population is capable of forming their own opinion.
If you control most of the 20%, you get to manage the 80%.
I'm all about empowering individuals but I'm starting think that the 80% need to be managed.
It's not separation, not judgement.
It feels like this is an ancient dilemma.
Is that pesto, Chimichurri or something else?
How awesome would it be in FE mode?
Like to be able to toggle between them 🤣
Same, and it cooks up nice in the insta pot.

I've given up recommending Bitcoin in general. I only talk about it if people bring it up. Which is never.
Tired of hearing all the reasons people dislike or distrust Bitcoin while loving and trusting things that actively harm them.
No. But are you looking for purely an overlay network on top of the current internet or a new internet? FIPS was interesting to me because it at least claimed to be for replacing the current internet (by which I mean it is supposed to work on top of physical links), although now I see people treating it just as an overlay network like Tor, which is sad.
I had this idea a long time ago of how to connect and route between mesh networks potentially scaling through the entire globe, but I'm thinking here only about physical links and a new internet: #naddr1qq…smcd
I have no idea of how bad this idea is, because I couldn't find anyone to criticize it or any other idea to compare it to and I have zero experience with any of this.
As far as I know all the mesh networks in the world are sadly much less ambitious than I want: they're all happy to just be a local thing. And in some cases they clearly state that their routing algorithms don't scale at all (they're either based on a centralized supernode, or nodes flooding the network with packets, or on everybody keeping a routing table of the entire network locally).
Projects like Meshtastic are just a stupid psyop. They get people to be excited about a completely useless thing, thinking they are contributing to creating a new decentralized internet, and that their stupid toy is actually a step towards that, but in fact it can never be more than that toy.
What I wanted to see was an actual meshnet project that employed some routing algorithm capable of easily adapting to new nodes joining freely, but also adapting to a new mesh network being connected by some new node, and then some other mesh connects to that, and so on, until you're able to route a message to someone a thousand miles away.
I think my method above works, and it is not magic because it has this important tradeoff: you can't route only with keys, i.e. your address can't be just your key like all these other projects do, you also need route hints in the address. It's like using an nprofile instead of an npub.
My method needs a lot of flushing, though. All the details are unspecified. And it would probably not work with any existing base network software, as it wouldn't deal with IP addresses at all (addresses would be much bigger than even IPv6 can support). It also needs a name, then we would have to adapt TCP and UDP to work on top of it (the name is important so we can call it TCP/<name> thing). I also didn't think about the incentives for routing at all.

That's kinda why I've never tried, but I have kinda exhausted door dash variety also
Usually they have introductory offers and you can rotate to a different service when it runs out. Helps with variety and costs.
I'm so picky that I ultimately started just bulk prepping my own meals. I'm excited to get back to it!
Much appreciated!
I don't mind only getting in front of a few people who actually end up enjoying whatever I showed them. Obviously would be better in some ways if a million people saw and liked it, but: more scale, more problems; probably..?
I used several of those services when I was in Seattle. It helps supplement meals but I always found the variety lacking so I still door dashed 😂
not really, the "pad" is the top-level organization. I have a sort of catch-all one that I use for "free notes", where each bullet is like the title of the note and everything goes inside that bullet.
I'd consider non-"pad" notes, but I'd have to think through how that would work a bit.
Very much open to feature requests :)
Fyi, Alex is not a Bitcoiner, he is just recently learning all of this stuff, among which appearently this bit of info

Glad you outed yourself so I can come out of the brown rice loving closet 🤝😂
Keeping an eye on this for sure
