Noooo, Monero tips should allow the recipient to easily maintain privacy.
An alternative approach is for the sender's client to publish an event with the transaction details. The recipient (or a watcher) can then sign the tip event.
I'm sure Monero wallets would also gladly implement support to give the transaction data back to the nostr app through a nostr URI so people don't have to manually copy transaction details.
Do you know by chance if this will work on Linux mobile such as #NuraEco? They are making their system immutable and so things like flatpak and app image would be necessary. I want to say they already use flatpaks, but I'm not absolutely sure on that.
Only if your adversary is somebody like the United States. Otherwise, it's perfectly acceptable to use.
I2P is way too low in the bandwidth department.
I think I've come to a tentative conclusion about what's causing the problem, and I think that it might be TorVPN. To test that, I am trying out invizible in VPN mode to see if it stops happening. I was also having web browsing issues where sometimes I would get unable to connect messages like the website wasn't reachable, and I thought that it was because they saw that I was coming from a Tor exit node and refused to respond or something like that, but perhaps it was actually telling the truth, and something with TorVPN may have actually been the problem.
I had never used invizible as a whole device VPN before, so I thought it was normal and it turns out it may not be.
What the actual fuck?
Syncing #Monfluo to #tor nodes did a partial sync, then totally stopped pulling data before the sync was done. Changing to a different tor node did not restart the sync. However, changing to a clearnet node did.
#Monero
I wouldn't hold your breath, that's for sure.
yo, #MeshCore-Open just got a pretty sweet update that add their own online map because before, the only app map was in the proprietary app and open source apps weren't allowed to use it. I have asked specifically if other open source MeshCore apps like MeshCore 1 (MC1) and Meshy are going to be allowed to contribute to it.
I suspect the answer is probably yes, but haven't gotten an answer as of yet.

It seems to me like you have to make a distinguishment between AI slop, where somebody just creates something and puts it out there and is never going to maintain it, versus somebody creating something and putting it out there, and then taking feedback for what needs fixing, and what could be better done this other way, and etc. etc., and maintaining it over long periods of time to mold it into a good shape.
not bad at all. now the monostr relay can be set to require 8 bit pow to relay
#nevent1q…3vlj
#Monostr is the first #Nostr client I have used that has NIP-13 PoW. Pretty cool except for the fact you can turn it off.
My thought process was make it mandatory and then in the future clients would be able to turn on a minimum proof of work required to show the note at all.
looks like @npub1p47…2qfl and I had the same idea of adding PoW to #Monostr. The difference between the way they did it and the way I was going to do it was I was going to make 8-bit an absolute mandatory floor and not allow it to be turned off.
But if I'm going to synchronize through Tor, why not just continue using Tor to make the transactions as well?
But the QR isn't static either, as each time you can generate a new one-time QR.
Okay, that I was not aware of, and that makes a lot more sense.
I just know that they accomplished the same job of providing anonymity online and I2P seemed to do a worse job at what I needed it for than Tor did.
You're not running a local mode on a phone. At least not easily. Therefore, that is not an option.
At that hashrate, I assume you're using the mini p2pool chain.
That requires Bitcoin, which I don't have and don't want.
Only if it's also priced directly in Monero.
I wish I could say the same, but every time I've tried I2P, I have come away incredibly disappointed. And this was after several times, over like a year time span of trying it.
My main use case is that I want to synchronize my Monero wallet with my Monero node, and on Tor, I get 5 MBPS. On I2P, I get 40 KBPS.
I could possibly shorten my I2P tunnels to one-hop tunnels, but then that completely kills the privacy of using I2P, which I don't want to do. Especially not when I can get 5 Mbps through Tor, where I've got the six hops between the client and the server.
To set up your own Tor hidden service, you do not have to set up a Tor relay at all. You set it up as a regular client like you would use to browse the Tor network but then in the Tor configuration file you specify that you have hidden services available to publish.
hmmmm. kinda considering setting up my own #Tor #Nostr relay just for the hell of it.
every relay i am aware of is on the cucknet where you have to rent your own domain and ICANN can just pull the rug on your relay.
i am running my client over Tor, but connecting to cucknet relays. may be time to close the loop.
lol, somebody is such an adult child. there is a relay xalled XMR.ItHurtsWhenIP.ee
I have my doubts, but any chance we see Monostr on #NuraEco (formerly #PostMarketOS) and #UbuntuTouch? I know if it's written in QT Kirigami, it can work on both.
okay, here are a few things i would like to see.
1. Add the ability to copy your NPUB from your profile.
2. for the paid Monero relays give the option to visit the web pages to add your npub to their write lists by paying the fee.
Think I will be trying this from Obtanium until I can get it through F-Droid.
I will be testing for screen reader accessibility, since that is something I care about because I use a screen reader on a frequent basis. And my question is, does it support proof of work for note publishing?
I would love to have a client that could publish proof-of-work with my notes so that I could publish to relays that will only accept proof-of-work notes and potentially have the option to not show any note that doesn't have proof-of-work attached unless I am following them.
Yeah. My SimpleX is in my bio
For battery safety you might want to see if you could acquire sodium ion batteries instead of lithium ion or lithium iron phosphate because they can handle charging at whatever temperature and be perfectly fine.
Also, at least consider using meshcore over meshtastic because meshcore works better for permanent deployments and has better routing so that more people can join the network than can handle on meshtastic.
There is a cyclic nature to it too. For example I recall you insulting Monero, which makes it hard to take your opinions seriously. There is a cycle here because I'm sure you won't like me insulting you either, and neither do the many toxic maxis around here too. We'll just go round and round.
If elliptic curve cryptographic assumptions break, Bitcoin breaks. A transparent supply is not the 100% invulnerable protection most Bitcoin maxis think it is.
Toxic bitcoin maxi culture = making retarded jokes about Monero even after people who donated Bitcoin to the truckers had their lives rocked.
From woodser:
#Haveno v1.9.0 is tagged! 🎉
This version brings a major refresh of the user interface, plus many fixes and security improvements from community review, including findings from Kevlar and AI-assisted audits.
Highlights:
• A new startup wizard to choose your currency and Monero node, or import a wallet from its seed phrase
• 24 new payment methods, including M-Pesa, Mercado Pago, GCash, BLIK, Wero, Pago Móvil, and Vipps MobilePay
• All payment methods are now supported over the API for mobile access
• The command line client is restored, and basic screen reader support is added
• Monero is updated to v0.18.5.3 and Tor to v0.4.9.13
There is also an experimental native wallet mode, which runs wallets inside Haveno instead of through monero-wallet-rpc, so it's faster and lighter. Enable it under Settings > Preferences > "Use native wallet (experimental)". Please share feedback, since it could become the default in the future.
This update is not mandatory, but it is recommended for all users. Arbitrators must update before users. Please back up your application directory before updating.

Guessing #RetoSwap in <= 1 week. #Monero
I use fdroid for almost everything. Though i do have obtainium.
#XMRBazaar does ~8 sales/day pl@atform wide rn
It's also much easier to target the people who donated.
There is just no debating that the Bitcoin maxi led effort would have gone better for all involved if they had put slight effort into roping Monero in as an option.
But unfortunately Monero is sacrilegious. The toxic maxis can't have Monero looking too good.
Stay mad Monero would have worked better for the truckers ;)
True. Will need to do some looking. Never heard of routestr until like a couple days ago and don't really know much about it yet.
Just joined the #Monero room on #Armada. I will say I was very happy to be given the option to open with my external signer application so that I could use Amber. And it did work, but it wasn't easy. The first time it didn't work, and I had to redo it.
Until Google decides to make Android no longer open source, pay the fine for doing so, and kills GrapheneOS, yes it is.
Ive been using kimi k3 via nano-gpt paidin #Monero
By charity do you mean the normal like donate to a cause form of charity? Women confess that they struggle with that often?
I think you can easily make the argument that restricting the flow of ideas from someone to another is wrong
What is it like vibe coding in a language you don't know? When there is a bug, does it usually get fixed properly or do other things break?
Maybe it's because you suck
That's why nostr is going to remain a niche thing for a long long time
I don't think etf's and non custodial software are really helping the cause and I argue the Bitcoin maxi camp is doing a pretty shitty job at staying on track
Did you LLM this or rip it free hand? Either way, I think it's funny
