Last Notes
This is trying to be an alternative to AUR, which I made because AUR had closed user registrations due to automated use.
We live in strange times.
Last year I spent many hours learning vim keyboard shortcuts. This year I've spent probably less than 5 minutes in vim. Oh well.

Omarchy might become the Nostr operating system. Working on a package manager for it (and other systems) https://haps.hashtree.cc/
Yes! Thanks for testing and glad it works. I think topping up the wallet might be the biggest blocker for many people who are not familiar with cashu.
Is it better than Astra? I haven't touched Claude in 6 months or so 😅
Thanks for testing. There may have been an issue with pre-existing nostr users. Working on a new release that should fix.
Thanks for testing. I talk to my llm agents with it, easy to set up with no account required.
Nostr double ratchet https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1813
Help test secure messaging on nostr? Download https://irischat.org and send me a message — look up "sirius" or scan the chat link. It's like signal, but no phone number or other 3rd party account needed. Works also locally over bluetooth.

What web clients are ppl using these days?
No, but wireguard -> fips was a major change
It's on app store as well. https://nostrvpn.org/
Yes, they're divergent. I rewrote this to be more performant for Nostr VPN
Experimental: nostr / blossom / hashtree based google drive alternative https://getdrive.iris.to/

The solar eclipse in Iceland was magical and impressive, even though it was cloudy.

I might add SDR, and mics and speaker that are togglable by a physical switch
Easy to virtually prototype these days

Yes, it doesn't help if the local internet infra goes dark. For that you'd need 1) starlink for global internet access or 2) something like https://fips.network local mesh — needs sufficient density of participating wifi routers. LoRa is probably too low bandwidth for mesh internet, but suitable for short messages.
Mobile wifi router, 5g hotspot and power bank. If you use it as a stationary home router, it stays online during power outages and can provide backup mobile internet even if you have a landline. It would wifi mesh with nearby devices over https://fips.network (nostr public keys based decentralized routing and encrypted comms). With lora it could transmit and route short messages (e.g bitchat) over many kilometers.
It's a mobile router, so with GNSS you can track where it's going, or where it's installed, if you're managing many of them.
Freedom router: wifi, 5g modem, esim, bluetooth, gps, lora, <100wh battery / powerbank (air travel compatible). What else?

Maybe we can add hashtree support to ngit. NIP-34 by itself is transport agnostic, git-remote-htree posts repository announcements using it.
https://zapstore.dev/apps/org.nostrvpn.app
APK also has autoupdater https://nostrvpn.org/
Maybe you can register at namecheap.com with a pseudonym, but that probably requires an email address in the first place
Where can you register domain names anonymously these days? I vaguely recall a site called anonymousspeech.com...
"Price: 1000 sats for 1 year" — incredibly low price, I wonder if they can keep spammers at bay and not get blocked by other email hosts 🤔
I don't know if this has changed or depends on your IP address, but last time I registered a proton account they asked for another email address or phone number
Is there any email provider that can be paid in lightning and doesn't require kyc, phone number or another email address?
Noticed again that FB / Instagram are just fine, until they don't let you log in to your account and shut you off from your social connections.
Thanks for reporting. Sounds like unnecessary CPU usage, I'll look into it.
/goal maximize paperclip production
Is there a way to delete apps on @npub10r8…t2p8 ? There's an older Nostr VPN version by app id to.iris.nvpn that's listed before the newer org.nostrvpn.app which is confusing.
Works after zapstore update
No apps found for "amber" in @npub10r8…t2p8 . Is my android test phone too old or something.
Yes, I haven't tested the linux GUI side lately and someone reported a scroll issue in it though 🫠
Thanks for testing and reporting!
It announces presence and finds FIPS peers on Nostr. Then it uses FIPS to route packets to the recipient device npub, directly or through fips peers.

You have a point: the lower you go on the stack, the more scrutiny it needs (think OS)
I've made a nostr & https://hashtree.cc native Chromium fork "Iris Browser". It has in-built NIP-07. It shares files and sites p2p, no need for blossom servers. It has adblock, you can watch youtube without ads.
But I think I'll need a threadripper build server because build time is a major development bottleneck 😅 Takes hours on a 64gb 14 core mac mini.
#note1trc…kd40
This version also has wireguard exit capability, so can be used with e.g. Mullvad or Proton exit nodes
FIPS: https://github.com/jmcorgan/fips
https://hashtree.cc supports fuse mounting. you'll probably need some vibing to make it google drive like experience
