There was some big brain on here who, I think, didn't rule it out, but that any "particle" traveling back in time is shredded to the point that no information is passed. I have my doubts on that on some level but concede that overcoming such a limitation is not a trivial matter.
More interesting is something I always note is Heinlein writing a short story that poked fun of the whole time travel idea where a guy becomes his own mom and dad. It was clear from the story that Heinlein was doing a humorous takedown, but it was turned into a dramatic movie with, um, that faggot guy, um, Ethan Hawke.
