AI models will definitely push toward highest efficiency, but Jevons paradox says that will not decrease overall energy consumption.
But there's also Wright's Law, which says cost falls as production rises, so more power demand will cause power costs to go down (at least in real terms, Federal Reserve Pesos is another matter).
Anyway, everything points toward positive outcomes.

Way way way way back I was tasked with fixing a hacked wordpress and after getting rid of the c99.php off of it, my boss said "now we need to upgrade it" to which I said "the hell I will" and proceeded to remount the php-accessible directory tree read-only, and the uploads folder as non-executable.
To my knowledge, that WP was never hacked again, despite having a public known vuln.

300-500 years ago we sailed across the oceans, discovered new territories, and colonized them, and (somehow) survived. Women weren't a problem for them then.
And furthermore, GP can't explain how he imagines raising children and teenagers and all of that kind of trouble-makers in his space colony - and why his solution for controlling children wouldn't work for women too.
If you ask me, I think the men only thing is actually more his goal 😏

> without "GOD said so" you get liberalism
Well, it's a risk indeed. There are two layers to this.
The first is when you eliminate religion, people want to know what is the fundamental goal in life. And an answer which is perfectly compatible with atheism is that life is about Thriving, as an individual, as well as helping your bloodline thrive, honoring your ancestors, and helping your People to thrive.
And the second question is why shouldn't we do polyamory, and homosexuality, and hedonism? We feel great, aren't we thriving?
And the objective answer to that is that all of these things have been tried millions of times in the past, and they're marginal now because they were shown not to work. Even without accepting Christianity as Truth, we can respect that its rules made our ancestors successful, and the people who had no such rules died out - so those rules are a Good Thing.
It's certainly more to explain than "God Said So", but the "God Said So" route becomes mired in little questions and paradoxes that become hard to answer, and then get passed around on atheist forums and pick away at the belief system...

They're technically not wrong. The people that actually say how shit's going to work, and point a gun at anyone who doesn't agree, are men. So when shit goes sideways, the blame is on men.
Now these same women would freak out if men started actually doing the things needed to fix the problems... but it doesn't change the onus of responsibility.

FWIW I don't think there's much chance of getting paganism off the ground at this point, it's such an old religion, it would be like re-starting from scratch.
What would probably work the best would be agnosticism with spiritual characteristics. Particularly because if we are to honor our ancestors, we can't erase the fact that Christianity is what they believed.

Before Einstein, it was generally accepted that you can't violate the forward progression of time, because "time" is not really a thing, it's the measurable effect of physical processes playing themselves out. So the states of the universe that we call the past no longer exist and cannot be returned to.
Then Einstein did this Space-Time thing in order to solve some problems with gravity and time dilation (under certain circumstances, physical processes slow down). And then he decided to make Time a dimension, like the three dimensions of space.
I am firmly on the side of Lorenz here and I think this is nonsense.

Christianity has this philosophy that if you're doing something and it's RIGHT, it doesn't matter how bad the consequences are, you do it because your reward is in Heaven. And I think Islam has something similar.
Judaism has a thing that when everyone else is dead and you are the last one left fighting, THEN, God will intervene and make you win.
This stuff is obviously very powerful if you're trying to fight a war, and you know that there's people who aren't gonna make it, but you need them to fight and die for you anyway...
However, the flip side is when you get locked on to some belief that is self-destructive, your ability to reason "lets not do this" is turned off, so you're a bit fucked.
