You can change editors, it is possible, but it requires that you be sold on the merits, not mandated to use it.

We all allow our colleagues this simple liberty. The professional rhetorical question is always asked:
Who cares WHICH text editor you use to program with? When you write good code, you write good code. That's all we care about.

This even extends to languages. That's why our resumes are all focused on the languages we are proficient in.
