It's it a Ponzi?
How can anyone know anything for sure now days?
But anyone claiming Bitcoin as a Ponzi while at the same time refusing to point out that money printed to take value from common people's saved wealth is a much more sinisterly designed scheme than Bitcoin ever could be...
I don't trust advice from people that aren't trying to exit the current system in some way.

I live mostly in the present. But I often place myself 30 or more years in the future to reflect on what my old future self might believe about what my present self was doing.
I never wish myself to be younger, but I can imagine my future old self jumping at the opportunity to live what I'm living right now.

How to Fail: A skill I teach my football players and students.
Learning how to fall (failing) is one of the unsung skills you must master to build a rewarding life.
When I was young, I didn't think much about getting 'good' at falling down, but I certainly felt the pain of those falls before I learned how to handle them. As a dirt bike rider and football player, I fell over and over again. In the beginning, the falls aren't that traumatic; at a basic level, hitting the ground doesn't require much skill. But as you reach higher levels in any activity, the falls become more intense, requiring the ability to fall gracefully.
Broken collarbones and fractured wrists made it easy for me to see how the mechanics of a fall truly work. Life and business difficulties aren't much different. You will fail, and as you grow, those failures can become significant setbacks if you don't know how to land.
Just as you learn to 'roll with the punches' in physical sports, you must learn how to recover, learn, and rise to the occasion repeatedly in life. Getting good at failing provides the foundation you need to take on bigger projects and move to the next level.

A facing west mountain property, you don't have direct sun in the mornings. The sun hits the top of the Continental Divide first thing though.

Success is often a factor of conviction, and how long you can stay convicted to a particular project or goal.
The other side of success is choosing the right things to be convicted about.
One of my most helpful convictions, the one that keeps me focused, is being Bitcoin Only.
It keeps me out of a lot of trouble.

Leadership Legacy
Football programs cultivate a legacy of leadership, nurturing a pipeline of future leaders who are committed to serving their communities, fostering progress, and inspiring positive change.

It's hard to know all the rules before you get started.
The rules are confusing on purpose to protect those in power.
Old: Know all the rules before you play the game.
New: Get in the game and learn along the way.

2025-10-08 12:58:59 UTC

Core vs. Knots rules.
From the casino gaming industry to the football field, I'd say I've been trained to be a rule follower.
In both disciplines, there are many hard rules, even stupid ones, that are so dumb they really shouldn't be followed but must be to play the game.
Inside systems like this, unwritten soft rules have room to proliferate. Unwritten rules are more subtle and harder to follow, and are often more punitive or rewarding when broken. At the same time, these soft rules are often the easiest rules to break and get away with.
When complexed rule based systems are used, it's hard to catch those that want to take advantage of the system. It creates many rule breakers. Stytems based on large sets of rules are a cat and mouse system by design.
Sometimes you have to put in extra hard rules in systems like this because many people will try to take advantage the others who are playing by both the hard written rules as well as the unwritten ones.
