i don‘t get it. what is this?

2025-12-16 07:34:17 UTC

i have not researched this in detail but my intuition is that the largest cost to miners is electricity so by simply switching off they can essentially „hibernate“ until price recovers.
hodl miners i‘d also assume have diamond hands and margin miners sell constantly anyway.
it‘s also quite evident from the bart linechart that (leveraged) trade ($45B trading volume) dictates price movement currently which exceeds volume by miner sales ($36M mined per day) by 3 orders of magnitude.

we already do. miners are going offline.
but difficulty will just adjust down 🤷

awesome video, julian!
i love the take that with scarce money we only spend, when utility is greather than the money’s holding value and this being the reason for cathedrals etc.

i dared to criticise china 🇨🇳 on X and am once again surprised how many chinese are incapable of talking about their country with nuance.
> china can be authoritarian and technologically incredibly successful at the same time.
> it can have a rich own culture and simultaneously tries to wipe out other cultures.
> it can have arguably good food and still be one of the greatest polluters in the world.
how do you go through life only acknowledging the good things while ignoring the bad?

ok yes i understand what you mean. scoring the nr of books has zero value. what you get out of them is the benchmark.
i have a family member who reads incredibly much but asking her about even the second to last book is impossible. almost zero recollection of details.

very true but people generally read not enough rather than too much, don’t you think?
besides, any good book tips?

nostr needs less pics and memes.
and more discussions, news, personal takes and learnings.

i have a business background, finance education and have watched sailor describe his infinite money glitch in a few videos.
i do understand his logic but i also think he is omitting some of the mechanisms if (inevitably) things don’t go as hoped.
happy to be wrong here and i hope i‘ll learn something by the end but usually if something doesn’t make sense or sounds to good to be true… well

so if #MSTR pays out 10%ish in yield to everyone holding their credit instruments, how exactly are they generating cash besides issuing more debt or shares if they are committed to never selling the underlying asset?
even in a highly leveraged long bet on bitcoin at some point you want to DECREASE your interest obligations. here it seems like the interest burden is perpetually INCREASING over time and the only way you win is if bitcoin gains are long term greater than 10% p.a.
with a 12month cash runway on the interest that does not seem to be an amazingly large buffer if the bitcoin price goes flat/bearish for a 2-3 years (which is possible).
what am i missing?

2025-12-10 05:25:40 UTC

controversial take: there are too many memes on nostr.
who can i follow for more signal?

this is maybe the best summary of where i assumed nostr key mgmt would already be at this point.
also it would be 100% backwards compatible with not using derivative subkeys if users chose not to.

2025-12-08 14:10:51 UTC

- reply

cool idea but aren't nostr keys hot and hard to safeguard when used daily?
i'd love to take this a step further and have a master-nostr-key that stays offline and that can create derivative "hot" keys with automatic follower within the key-family-tree.

cool but that does not support mnemonic seed words, right?
so users cannot (reasonably) stamp shards in steel.
