PayPal says they are closing my account because I haven't logged in for 3 years. I don't remember ever having a PayPal account after they banned me many years ago. It's possible I tried to register again in the past but they always limit accounts so I never used it.
Good! I happy they are closing my account. PayPal sucks and we don't need it anymore. We only need Bitcoin.

I remember the first time I signed up years ago I had issues signing up. I don't even remember how I succeed in getting an account. They don't accept signing up with email, phone number only. It's so dumb. I only want it so I can see what Trump is saying. What a terrible website.

I'm not sure how it's calculated. I think it's calculated from zapping the official amethyst npub. It says I zapped 57,807 sats. I actually don't remember zapping that much. I was surprised. I thought I was around 10k to 20k sats.

2026-10-12 15:54:38 UTC

- reply

The bounty wording makes sense for feature requests, but not for bug reports.
Right now, the bug report form says that if someone doesn't offer a bounty, their bug won't be fixed. That makes it sound like users are required to pay developers to fix problems.
I didn't notice for 5 years because I've never submitted a bug report.
Something like this.
**Bounty (in Bitcoin sats) offered for a solution**
The size of the bounty is proportional to how much this matters to you. If no bounty is offered, the bug will still be worked on based on its severity and impact. We prioritize fixing serious bugs regardless of bounties, while bounties, even small ones, can help prioritize less critical issues.
Although that is still too complicated. When I read it on the feature request I had to think about what it meant.

I'm not being cheap, I just need to somehow become rich first then I can buy lots of hosting

I remember I tried odyssey before. I thought it was fine. I didn't really understand the backend. I only cared about making money. They had some weird cryptocoin that did make sense. Same with bitchute, I didn't really care that much about the platforms but I'm not a video content creator. I recently just started streaming and recording my streams.
I don't think most people care about blossom or lbry, they just want to be able to upload and make money.

2026-10-11 04:33:27 UTC

I just checked my backblaze. They give you 10 GB free storage and I'm almost at 1GB. Still got plenty of space.
The trick is never to upload videos. That's why never see me uploading videos which makes me sad because I've always wanted to upload videos, but I'm not rich so I can't afford video storage. I would freeload off the blossom servers but they delete the videos after while so you end up with broken notes.

spatia arcana crew unite!

2026-10-11 03:01:00 UTC

Nostr doesn't have a YouTube-style platform because developers have tried building them in the past, but hardly anyone used them. Most ended up filled with low-effort short clips instead of quality, long-form content.
Many of these platforms also had a 100 MB upload limit, which made them impractical for serious video creators.
The bigger problem is that Nostr simply doesn't have the user base to sustain a YouTube alternative yet. Creators who produce high-quality videos need affordable hosting, and that isn't easy to find. You end up with a platform with two active uploaders, barely any viewers, and not enough zaps to cover the hosting costs.
I don't think Nostr is ready for a YouTube-style platform. The economics just don't work yet.
For example, I have over 1 TB of recorded livestreams. I'd love to make them available, but hosting that much video, especially with bandwidth costs, is simply too expensive.
Until Nostr has more users, affordable video hosting, and a way for creators to cover their costs, these platforms will struggle to survive and worse, we can't compete with YouTube and Rumble who had deep pockets.

2026-10-11 02:59:07 UTC

I tried without CDN and it was terrible. It's just too slow. It's not worth it. There is lots of options out there and I tried most.
I'm not even paying for backblaze because they give me 10GB for free. I'm just uploading images, rarely and do I ever upload videos so I haven't gone past 10 GB.
I'm not a serious podcaster or am trying to become a famous podcaster to make money but if I was, YouTube would be the place because of discoverability and money. Nostr doesn't have a YouTube website so there is no where to get discovered and see your past streams. The feeds on clients isn't a good way to get discovered. Devs have tried making a YouTube type website but it fails over time because the userbase is too small and they have no where to host their videos.

2026-10-11 02:45:09 UTC

- reply

Backblaze would cost me 7 per month to host 1TB. I looked at Nostr build's prices and it would cost me 40 per month to host my 1TB of videos. It's way too expensive. Backblaze is way cheaper but I'm not making any money off my recorded streams so it's not worth it.
I'm guessing most people feel the same as me. If you're not making any money off your videos then it's not worth paying to host it. YouTube is the only place you can make money off your videos and host them for free and even if you don't manage to make money. You didn't spend a dime.
Nostr can't fix this because you clone YouTube website and devs have made it but the site ends up being dead.
Where do you promote your podcasts? I didn't even know you had a podcast. I wasn't even aware of a site we can find nostr videos or podcasts. I know fountain but their UI sucks and don't think they have a website. Nostr isn't good for getting your video channel known. Which sucks.

2026-10-11 02:30:04 UTC

- reply

Really? How much would it cost me? I have 1 TB of stream videos that I host for free on YouTube and Rumble. I would love to host them. I checked around backblaze but after 1 TB it becomes expensive and the zaps aren't enough to pay for the hosting. I know nostr build plans are cheap but I didn't really look into it deeply.

2026-10-11 02:27:52 UTC

- reply

Some nostr devs last year created a YouTube clone but they gave up after a while because nostr doesn't have that many users and worse, nostr users have no way to host their videos for free. They can use nostr build but then you have to pay to host the videos and hosting massive long hour podcasts is way too expensive considering zaps won't come close to paying for the hosting. So the site ended up dead.
Discoverability, you can only really find that on YouTube. Rumble is basically dead. Unfortunately the world is on YouTube. Just keep appealing, if you can't use rumble and nostr. That's all we can do for now. It's sad but nothing else we can do.

2026-10-11 02:13:27 UTC

YouTube hasn't changed and will continue to ban people. Unfortunately the only solution is to host your own video files but it's too expensive to host hours long video. Nostr can't fix this so until then just use rumble.

Unfortunately it's not easy running a legit Bitcoin company when the world is ruled by corporations. I will keep supporting coincards and advertising your good company but word of mouth. That's all we can do to help.

I don't get it. All I see is your proton email and empty inbox

Coincards keeps getting better and better! Highly recommend this website to spend your BTC. On-chain and lightning both accepted!

I hope we get a website eventually. Amethyst is the best client so I suspect it will be the best website. Should I just download the program?

@nprofile…2a28 won't keep my notes in his relay for more than 14 days. I don't think that's fair. If I'm going to pay for a relay they should keep it forever. I paid 21 sats for the nostr21 relay and they keep my notes forever. My notes barley take up any space. I don't see why he wants to delete my notes so quickly.

@nprofile…2a28 has joined the relay mafia! He's not allowing anyone to join his relay unless they use pow.
I refuse to use pow and so should you! Using pow is useless. It uses your phone's resources, slows down your phone and uses electricity.
The relay mafia is trying to get the users to use their phone resources because they don't know how to solve spam on their relays. Say no to pow!

Can someone tell me why nostr build has such a low resolution basic logo? It looks like someone made it on windows paint.
I'm not sure what the middle is supposed to be, but it looks like a deformed goose. I think they should update their log so it looks more modern and attractive to people.
Chatgpt updated it for me. Took me a minute. What do you think? Should they make their logo more attractive?

ya I really that raccoon. Just don't make it blue because the company shakePay uses a blue raccoon.
I don't really understand your nostr build logo. It looks like a block with a deformed goose in the middle.

dear nostr , everyone is complaining nostr isn't growing fast enough so today I helped an owncast streamer understand nostr. In celebration I'm going to buy myself a mango smoothie and now.. I'm done for the year!

Nostr is growing everyday, but If you want to grow nostr much faster you're going to have to start world war 3 and blow up the big tech servers. That is basically the only thing you can do to grow nostr super fast.
I choose to not start world war 3. Instead I went on shosho and zapped a owncast streamer which made him want to come stream and learn nostr.
I did my part! I'm done for the year!

RoboRev who streams on owncast made an npub and lightning address. He said he's gonna try streaming on nostr. He's new so it's going to take him some time to understand nostr.
Here is his npub:
