i remember awhile back a bunch of the qwen guys quit. Citing their work on the smaller models was most important, but the leaders disagreed and wanted to push in the direction of larger models like deepseek/glm/kimi

This has a bit of doomer twinge. But I understand the feeling like everything is on hold. Fear of making commitments because you may make the wrong bet.
I see this a different way, yes everything is changing, but giving up and just let things happen is dumb. This is why I am all in on local ai sovereignty, it is kinda like digital prepping. Rather than fear the future, embrace it, learn it, DO IT!

It's fiddly but what project Stargate was not unsuccessful. Ametures arent going to be able do magic with it. It isn't perfect but not much of cognitive science is. I'll believe in remote viewing before I believe in SSRIs for example. Most cognitive science is made and bullshit, funny how more work has been put into blowing each other up rather than understanding consciousness.

Woo category for sure. Some people have trancent experiences at church, I have it in live music settings if the vibe is right. Some people could be in both scenarios and feel nothing. Some people claim to be psychic. Apparently remote viewing is real as hell and has been used successfuly. I'd say there is more to consciousness than we understand.

I think if people are worried about financial sovereignty, they need to worry about their inference sovereignty. It may go all to shit, in the SI era. Just like the military industry complex, obviously bombs and drones overpower a AR15 but it doesn't mean it is pointless to have one.

I may have literally saved a half a billion dollar company from embarrassment. This is ISP finally figured out their endpoint devices have a firmware bug that caused packet loss. Only because I run rtp across their network, thus I noticed the loss. Might be my bigest career achievement.
