All generic hardware and open source software.
A guy on Twitter I follow also created a similar tool using Bitcoin Core.

Cute but guys like Jesus and his disciples were brutally murdered for starting their faith. Interesting scheme.
In all seriousness, if you believe something, wouldn’t you try to convince others and try to make it spread? Is that a bad thing?

What’s your argument?

Most cultures all through history have believed in almost all of these things. It’s quite close-minded and ethnocentric to write off these stories since you don’t see them day to day. What’s your logical reasoning for discounting the experiences of millions of not billions of people’s claims? Have you looked into modern scholarship on the supernatural like miracles or deathbed experiences.

If God exists and he tells you to do something hard (kill your kid and trust he’d be brought back to life), it’s quite commendable to trust him that much. If you read the story of the Bible, his son was promised to him long before so this was a huge test.
Of course we wouldn’t generally think God tells people to kill their kids… that’s exactly the point. This is included in the Bible for a reason. It’s weird and symbolic.

I’m guessing there is a break even point in which the speed gain from not moving eyes from side to side is worth it. One could have a pause and physical copy with a page number to stop and ponder. Like listening to a podcast on 2x speed until something complex comes up.

But if you double the speed that would more than make up for some lost comprehension. Sounds like a good tradeoff.

He was being interviewed on a show by some Lutheran so impressed by his work that the interviewer got the impression that the Bible is to not be trusted at all due to all the errors. Bart clearly gives this impression but when pressed, he admits that it is what it is. There are tons of manuscripts which is the reason there are so many small and almost always insignificant variations.
I have not read his books but have listened to a couple of his debates. One of which, put on by the founder of the Ehrman Project.

Okay, since I replied in a snarky way to you, my punishment is that I have to reply once more.
Let’s recap. Toxic said that Christians are essentially weak cowards. My response is that even if that’s true, it doesn’t make us wrong. People that are stupid, cowards etc believe all sorts of true things. (Furthermore this is an obviously false, bigoted claim).
I said that gravity is predictive and so is the Bible, though I didn’t claim gravity and prophecy are as easy to discern.
I don’t use prophecy is an argument because there’s multiple steps involved to determine whether the Old Testament is a reliable document and whether the New Testament has reliable documents. Furthermore, most prophecy is in sections of literature that are highly symbolic and the New Testament has hundreds of breadcrumbs, not a flashing prophecy sign, This is very foreign to us western readers and we are generally too lazy to go back and understand it. I’ll be short for people who don’t want to go read better explanations elsewhere.
By external, I should have been more precise. The Bible is not 1 book, it’s a collection of writings over thousands of years. Many things spoken of in the Old Testament have been validated archaeologically (sometimes after hundreds of years of skepticism) and many things have been verified in the New. Many things have lined up with physical archeology, monetary units, distances, current exchange rates, complex political structures, percentages of popular names at that particular time and region etc. The claims made by the gospel writers are more likely trustworthy than not. (See Simon Greenleaf, who helped found Harvard Law, in his little book Testimony of the Evangelists) Most died for what they claimed.
Now, these people saw and heard Jesus speak. They saw things like him strangely ride into Jerusalem on a colt donkey as was predicted, his bones not get broken during his crucifixion (not normal) or the “Passover lamb” dying at the time of Passover.
I’m not sure exactly what passage you’re referring to (there are several in different contexts, none fitting what you seem to refer to) but Jesus did come back. He did NOT “come back” in a wooden, literalistic sense. The whole Bible has God “coming” in a figurative way to say that his judgement is coming. And in 70 AD the Romans sacked the corrupt Jerusalem violently slaughtering people. When they surrounded, many Christians fled exactly as he predicted and survived. If you’re thinking of John 14:3, I don’t see any clear prediction that can be falsified unless one thinks that he must be literally taking them away. There are several views on what he’s getting at here but this is pre-death.
If I lumped you in with the pompous skeptics that just want to hurl illogical stones, I apologize.

I will not pull you back in. You’re convinced of your position and unwilling to evaluate further. Good day.

2026-08-17 22:19:05 UTC

You could do some ai searches for the basic concept. There’s external validation of many of the fulfilled prophecies. I’d recommend the book above for a deep dive. Honestly, I think this argument is not the first one to start with because it’s deep in the historical weeds.

2026-08-17 19:41:51 UTC

- reply

To say that various people/religions claim truth says nothing of whether none, some or one of them are indeed true.
You’re frankly out of your depth saying there is no evidence. There is massive, overwhelming evidence to anyone who honestly looks at the facts. If you’d like evidence, feel free to ask.
The atheists who claim theists are pompous for following evidence and claiming to have found the most rational answer then just shirk doing homework while lobbing insults at theists, are showing their lack of intellectual credibility.

2026-08-17 16:29:09 UTC

- reply

First, I didn’t say they were equivalent on every way, just that they’re both true. Don’t be stubborn like Toxic and argue straw men.
Second, you may want to check out a book called Evidence that Demands a Verdict. Interestingly, a weird part of Christianity is that there were hundreds of prophecies fulfilled in the person of Jesus. (And some after) So you can actually test many claims. The case for the existence of God goes much deeper than that but it speaks to verifiable historical predictions.

2026-08-17 03:27:11 UTC

- reply

Not sure what you mean. My point was simply that gravity and Christianity are both true. Stupid people can believe both. Of the Bible is correct, he is/was eternal so just because he wasn’t on the earth doesn’t mean he didn’t exist.

2026-08-16 21:15:27 UTC

- reply

Maybe you just haven’t experienced or properly vetted it. Don’t trust your doubts, verify.

I didn’t see the comment so I don’t know what he claimed. It’s not arrogant to claim to be correct. Everyone who has an opinion claims to be correct. Christianity is correct. Whether weaklings and cowards accept that fact is totally beside the point to whether it’s true. Weaklings and cowards also accept the fact that gravity exists. Don’t let either fact hurt your feels.
