GM Pokhara. Nepal is supremely underrated. Rode up to this viewpoint cafe for breakfast. 15 minutes of scenic riding to the top, and a big breakfast with two drinks for $3

This past week I've enjoyed re-reading Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, as my week 42 / book 42 of 2026 (closing in now on a book per week for the year). I first read it 15ish years ago. 10% of it was the same, another 10% I vaguely remember, 10% seemed missing, and the rest was completely new to me haha. Funny how that happens.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be back in Nepal climbing. Two peaks in two different regions. I love my day to day life, so will miss being home, but going back to Nepal is always a thrill. Truly an enchanting country. Aside from packing, I’ve been pre acclimatising. ~300 metres each night / 2km a week. That means sleeping in this weird tent a couple weeks 😄

nostr is cool as hell. I got a notification (via pulse, a nostr notification service in https://relayk.it), that someone had sent me a message. I then opened https://relayed.chat to see the message and reply. This all happened without a central party.
I've been using nostr for a while now, but still every week or so I have a wow moment just marvelling at it.
The extra cool part is of course that the services mentioned which I use are services I built and run myself. The participatory aspect of running nostr is a freedom you need to experience to value I think. As if you can't run it yourself, is it really open?

I would add sleepiness. A successful fat bear has eaten so much it ought to be in a slumber. Energetic bears are suspect, as if they haven't eaten enough and know it.

What happened with that app in your perspective? From mine they did lighting in integration well, but skipped outbox and most features the last years.

My experience running relays:
1. Notice the server is almost full
2. Upgrade server, more hard drives.
3. Wait 1-2 weeks
4. go back to step 1.

I've used aeropress for years. They're a great product. That said I recently changed to a glass cafetière at home, upon learning more about microplastics etc. I still use the aeropress, just for traveling. Stay healthy :)

That's not a bad idea. AI/ffmpeg combo that cuts out lex from lex friedman podcasts, so it's just interesting guests talking, monologue style.

Getting started on a massive feature for relaykit, versioning of all contained services. This will make individual services update-able within relaykit - as the user running relaykit decides at least. Likewise service creators/operators will be able to publish and own their own services, so relaykit becomes a nostr based distribution provider. Kind of like zapstore but for relays etc.

Oops. Posted to the wrong relays… but a nice enough photo, so I’ll leave it up.
Descending Chopicalqi in the Peruvian Andes if memory serves me right.

I don't know, I think these posts are great and a complete contrast to legacy media. Each to their own I guess.

Over a year of perfect uptime... gone in the blink of an eye 🥲
Happy to be building https://relayk.it specifically to help with these situations.

My take of that panel was that nobody got the point of pubkey and didn't get an answer when they asked.
