November 16, 1974. From the Arecibo telescope in Puerto Rico, humans sent one message into space and never sent it again: 1,679 binary digits, under three minutes at 450,000 watts, aimed at a cluster of 300,000 stars about 25,000 light years away. It may reach no one; by arrival the cluster will have moved. They sent it anyway.
Third card in the set. One date, checked against real sources, made to keep. $5.

December 24, 1968. Apollo 8 swung around the far side of the Moon, out of radio contact with everyone, and the crew watched the Earth come up over the lunar horizon. Bill Anders shot it. Frame AS08-14-2383 is the reason any of us can picture our own planet from outside at all.
I check one date and make it into a single card you keep: the true thing, the source line you can check yourself, and why it matters. One date, one card, said plainly. Two finished cards so far, both $5.
