New translation up!
Osaka is sleeping peacefully, I wonder what kind of dream she's having? It seems like even in her dreams, Osaka is impressed by the many talents of her friend Chiyo.

I'm sure Disco Elysium is an amazing game, but I have absolutely no desire to play it.
This thought originates from the fact that it's on sale right now, apparently. Been in my wishlist forever and I just never am interested enough to buy it

Yeah, I can see how it would be confusing - I definitely initially had the same thought as you. I imagine plenty of people probably use "passerbys". :blobcatShrug:

I was going to clown on this, some kind of joke about it being a name for a group of "passerbys", then I recalled that the plural is actually "passersby". :blobcatBlush:

I have more than that, but I'm aiming for at least 3LB for the skill point bonus: https://gametora.com/umamusume/supports/30101-agnes-tachyon
Really I wanna MLB right out the gate, and I think I'll be able to. I also think we will get some free pulls due to the anniversary, but don't quote me on that.

yeah if you have the carats for it, not a bad idea. I'm pretty low on carats so I'm going to pass.

Got a good night's sleep - still tired, but I know I'll be okay at least through the day, and that I can correct my sleep schedule today.
Working on some website designs soon here, I gotta make a portfolio for applying at places.

How many pulls do you think it will have taken to get Nice Nature cheerleader? (There's an implicit > for the prior specified values in this poll.)

Still no Nice Nature cheerleader pull. If I don't get her tomorrow, I'm doing 10-pulls until I do get her.

That's what I'm hoping for, too - I had a few close 3-wins, but nothing over that so far. I'm probably destined for group B this CM.

2026-03-06 16:07:20 UTC

- reply

Yeah this is a good example - after a while they just started releasing them as a way to generate cash based on the name, it felt.

2026-03-06 16:04:06 UTC

- reply

I think it's kind of tied to the generation it released - as an arcade game most BB games are probably "good", but you're right they're probably not good by today's standards. So many recent games are so much better, so probably not worth the time.
I will say, the later entries got lazier and lazier post arcade era, so I would actually bet the Wiiware and DS entries are pretty bad, personally. The best of the traditional BB games is probably Bubble Symphony or Bubble Memories.
Part 2 is the most different in the series, so I wouldn't consider it a traditional BB game, but I also don't remember it well enough to say if it's good or bad. But of all of them, it's probably the one with the highest chance of still being good.

2026-03-06 15:53:45 UTC

- reply

Actually, Bubble Bobble Part 2 is interesting (NES game) it's designed not for arcades and more like a single player Bubble Bobble game. I remembered liking that entry a lot, it might not have the arcade troubles that the other games faced.

2026-03-06 15:48:13 UTC

- reply

Yeah probably, back in the day I was okay with that because post-arcade era the games mostly had an "Insert Credit" button. But I could have imagined it being pretty bad regardless.

2026-03-06 15:24:55 UTC

- reply

Bubble Bobble is fun! I wasn't willing to add that to this list because, while it's probably a bad game by today's standards, I think historically it was actually a good game (and this list is mostly about bad games or games that maybe others didn't like).
My favourite entry is Bubble Symphony!

I know it's been said many times before but come on - how do you look at this cast of characters and say "no thanks, let's just put a picture of a baby blowing a bubble with sunglasses on the box"

2026-03-06 06:00:08 UTC

Okay I did end up doing that 9 games thing with a slightly different theme. I tried to think of older games I enjoyed but wouldn't really call them defining or favourites of mine. Something weird that I spent more time playing than probably I'd care to admit, or a game I recall liking but don't remember too well otherwise.
Don't take these as recommendations, most of these games probably aren't very good. Play them at your own risk, and also my game taste is bad anyways so :blobcatdab:
1. Cookie & Cream - it was just a fun co-op game I would play with my siblings, I remember enjoying it a lot, it was neat to help the other player on the other side of the screen in some levels.
2. Super Puzzle Bobble - This is the one with that dreadful, "worst box art of all time" American box art. The game itself is actually quite good, and the JP box art is great - that game oozed style, and was actually a pretty good entry in the Puzzle Bobble series. A shame the US box art sucked so hard.
3. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - On my original list of 9 games I put "Mischief Makers", but if I had to choose another Treasure game I'd probably pick this one. Mostly because I think other Treasure games are already well-liked enough. I like how fully they utilized the main mechanics of the game.
4. Kirby's Dream Course - I actually thought this was a well-liked and popular entry, but I'm always running into people who haven't played it. I bet this game is still fun, honestly.
5. Digimon World - Probably sucks, but I spent way too many hours in that game to ignore it. It's one of those games when you were a kid and had a ton of time it was fun to get lost in, and felt very mysterious to me (relatively speaking, for Digimon game, that is).
6. Rakugaki Kingdom - Again bad US name/boxart, but in this case also bad game (really)! The US name is "Magic Pengel: The Quest for Color". It's not actually a good game, but I always thought the idea was super interesting. Think like monster battles but you draw the monsters to make them - I wish the main story and battle system were better because back in the day that tech was kind of impressive I thought.
7. Megaman Soccer - okay I bet anyone who knows this game likes it. I don't like sports games, but sometimes a game like this pops up and surprises me. I remember playing this with friends a lot back in the SNES days, but oddly never owning it. It was just always at a friend's house and I always had fun playing it. (EDIT: Apparently mostly disliked! So I dunno what to tell you, I remembered enjoying it as a kid.)
8. RayCrisis - I like the whole trilogy, but I gotta say RayCrisis perfected the concept (the final and best of the series). I still occasionally go back and play this game, but a lot of it is probably nostalgia blindness, really. Music is dope, too - the tracks are really long, and I don't think they loop actually (but I could be wrong about that).
9. SkyGunner - This one I barely remember, but I recall it surprising me and having a lot of fun with the flying and fighting mechanic. Really, I should give it another go - I always remember it being "that fun weird flying game I was surprised to like", but I never remember it much more specifically. I only rented it, never owned it, but enjoyed it a lot.

Eh, I'll go on a walk. Maybe I just need a small break or something.
I forgot that Friday is Umamusumovie, so I still gotta watch Road to the Top before that. Maybe I'll watch that later tonight.

Small refactor turned into large multi-day refactor, and while I think some of the changes are good, others of them I'm not too sold on...
I thought maybe I'd finish this feature early, but I guess not. :blobcatShrugSmirk:

Yeah! I actually own the OST, which is why this song came up in my random playlist. There are definitely some good tracks in here (par for the course thankfully for Kirby games).

2026-02-21 03:33:58 UTC

In case you're wondering, the song isn't particularly great - there are many better tracks in the Kirby series. I just was a bit taken aback by the name in the playlist without knowing what it was from.

2026-02-21 03:30:36 UTC

Song is about to start playing, named "Please Don't Inhale the Cinema Patrons". What the fuck is this, and what is it from?

God I wish the anime were popular and we got the whole story animated. The manga is so much fun (anime too, it just didn't take off unfortunately).
