When did the exploit on btcpayserver start?

2026-08-04 01:00:23 UTC

If the bitcoin industry has dragged its feet on quantum protection, this cold card incident should be a serious wake up call.
Quantum literally renders the best entropy to the cold card. Breaking time consuming equations is what quantum is particularly good at.
Im not sure where we are in the process but this is not a 10- 20 year problem its lurking around the corner.
Will it harm multi-sig? Prob not. But this cold card fiasco may be a blessing in disguise, a shake up and wake up moment we all need to protect ourselves against a bigger cryptographic threat.

Every bitcoiner needs a soveriegn ai node- lol. Too expensive to do at the moment but maybe one day. As for now, run kimi on fireworks and route it to you machine running your node and or a temp container to isolate the software during probé so you dont have cloud ai poking around your live set up.

The fedi app has made it really easy to deploy a federation now. And if you find a federations you trust its a step removed from the corporate/business custodian route.
I personally made a fed with my family and if I meet close families willing to extend in the future it gives you the community approach. Honestly it may be what bitcoin culture has been missing. Since its inception its been "me against the world" its easy to overwhelm one person harder to overwhelm a community

Thats why banking became such a big business. Historically you needed armed guards and physical power to protect it and that's what led to abuse.
Tough, what do you decide? Trust the hardware designers, trust the banks, trust the exchanges?
If you decide you won't trust you can't just stick your head in the sand you have to educate yourself and really scrutinize everything... or buy insurance lol

I wish I could find the person who first peddled the idea that humans are either left brained or right brained. I’d slap them for making it seem like I must be one or the other.
Creative or Logical.
I wake up everyday, early in the morning to write. Some mornings my logical brain wants to crunch numbers, iron out a plan, solve a problem.
Other mornings my soul takes over my fingers and lets things arrive from nothing.
I don’t get to decide when I’m creative or logical.

Truly astonishing how the chapter on "cyber economy" quite literally describes bitcoin and AI agents.

Reading the Sovereignty Individual and having conversations with my cousin who is american and lives in Japan made me realize a pattern.
I live and work in America so I make my salary in dollars.
Vs my cousin who lives and works in Japan so he makes Yen.
Flip that and you see the pattern. Fiat is by decree of a sovereign.
I earn my money by decree of the United States.
My cousin by decree of Japan.
Earn in bitcoin and under what sovereignty do you lie?
Your own.

The heresy, the defiance in Victor Frankenstein's efforts to stitch together the limbs of the dead portrayed beautifully in Guillermo Del Toro's movie draws an uncanny parallel to today's tech elite stitching together the dead internet to give us AI.
We lean forward mesmerized by its whisper, believing it better than our own.
We've forked over handfuls of money seeking greater productivity and receive in return a monstrous pirouette of disjointed movements.
Those who've purchased shares have profited mightily, even as circular capital injections keep this monster alive.
The story of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein has been with us since 1818. It has been butchered and adapted like a mirror reflection of the monster in the story for over a century.
Guillermo Del Toro has been trying to make his faithful adaptation for 20 years.
We now have a Frankenstein movie for this era, when its most desperately needed.

Lol, all my posts are showing as my very first profile name and pic. Crazy, it must be some relay I haven't used in a long time feeding the network.

What do you use as your receiving wallet in nostr? I just sent a test transaction through a fedimint wallet and it worked

2025-11-18 14:35:37 UTC

I know there isn't much conversation about Fedi on NOSTR but I just ran a test transaction between my cashapp and a random fedi community wallet and it worked even though 1 of the 4 guardians were down.
I like the fact that ecash can be sent even without internet and a federated mint can be made resilient by having guardians run different set ups to ensure uptime.
Now with the new randomized guardian collection mechanism that Fedi implemented you can imagine a switch board like mechanism being used to ensure maximum uptime.
My question is, couldnt we do something similar with NOSTR. Just make it like one giant fedimint community. I mean thats kind of what it is already right?
What are the technical requirements to meet with this framework?

I think yakihonne's wallet uses cloudflare because its not working, otherwise I'd zap this! Too good.

All my self hosted stuff used Cloudflare tunnels. So long as I'm in my own LAN I don't need it but I should plan to put in a failsafe in case this starts happening more frequently.
