it's funny, i actually compete with #[0]'s Square product in the fiat space. All the years I spent strategizing how we could outcompete Square with far more limited resources than they had. It's exciting to be on the same team building a better future of payments.

This looks like BTCPayServer. Assuming the merchant properly implemented this, then keeping your browser open doesn't matter. Could actually help to refresh the page.

I don't see how this is any different from a legal perspective than how nostrimg.com works today. You're still hosting images uploaded by users either way. You can still run the Computer Vision stuff on both whatever you proxy/whatever you store. Torrents don't add (or remove) any legal complexity of that.

basically, allows for better interoperability between nostr media hosting providers.

I'm not saying that was a good idea...I definitely think it would not be a good idea. Aggression begets aggression. You are correct though, people shouldn't hate the players, they should hate the game.

2023-01-09 14:17:16 UTC

works here... tldr though- what's the point of using IPFS at the storage layer if the access layer is centralized through HTTP gateways? From a nostr perspective, a user would still have to POST the image to a HTTP server, which would then have to process it and save it on disk. Users would then later access the media through another HTTP gateway.

Also in wallet of satoshi, go to Receive -> Lightning Address. It will give you something that looks like an email address ending in @walletofsatoshi.com. Copy that, then go edit your nostr profile in your client and paste it in the Lightning field.

It would require your client to run some sort of middleware relay server that connects to all your relays, receives new events, and then triggers notifications to your device. And would also need to keep a database of your pubkey <-> push tokens.
