I tried it and then removed it。 It relied on other servers who may be offline which aren’t reliable
My main concern is Pomegranate’s reliability. Non-technical users who sign in with Google may never bother to back up their nsec. If the Pomegranate service goes down, they could be left with no way to access their account.

The cat sat on the mat, after the party.
I'd say there's a profound difference in meaning.
I just realized that if the w and the m were closer on the keyboard the typos would have driven you crazy by now. ;)
Thanks. It's a bit of a tough and confusing topic; doing my best to not be oververbose.
Roughly speaking, I'm proposing to require all porn-specific clients to create/render only porn-specific content and all other clients to create/render only non-porn-specific content, and to be very clear with this general distinction (porn ∈ nsfw, but porn != terrorism news; also, for example, nudity != porn).
is it inspired or based on Nix? Ive been thinking about this for a while
Yes, let's do it! Even if we just whine to each other about our exhaustion for an hour 😂🫂
Interesting 🤔

Comment bomb away! I'm way behind on my Nostr work these days but maybe next Thursday? The 22?
would be cool to have a desktop package
I’ve been exploring napps lately too, and I’m planning to add a napp runner to PsstPsst
it is a bit disorienting at first, but if you play around with it a bit, it quickly unveils a bunch of superpowers, despite its rough experience.

When you open a textbox to reply, click your pfp
Oops, I hit the anon reply thing by accident 😅
Lol you hit it accidentally, and I can't find it for nothing
I missed your reply, I’m reading just now.
that’s a good case for improving our understanding and knowledge of how avoiding data leak like this.
"after it ate" seems more like a subordinate clause. 🤨
WoT + community-defined protocols and interfaces = truly emergent social software
install worked, playing with it now
Sorry I mixed terminologies. I mean the central the whole time I was talking about operators...
Alaska is fine, the people who live there are super weird hahaha
I've never been I can imagine the conditions just make ya that way
No. I'm weird but not that weird
Hhaha why is Alaska weird?
I was trying to work out why sms didnt trigger anxiety in the same way as dms and why all chat apps now are basically instant messengers but with less mental health protection - like an "away" status?
can anyone explain how sms can be received by any phone number... but all the chat apps you need to be on the right app
how can we recreate this using data instead of paying 10p/text and all the shitty minimum top up rules?
Sorry for the thread. I keep thinking of ideas to add on. If the operators can talk to one another, then we could build a "operator in the phone" like amber, morganite, citrine and if existing users want to run their own operator they can easily do so. And then a way to easily import their existing key.
@nprofile…xcpk
Bittorrent has dealt with this NSFW stuff for decades, so I imagine Nostr will follow the same path.
I think the single operator might be an issue because for new users they don't care or know about all this which was the point of obfuscating to Google login. So when I was building I built my own. But at the time jumble didn't have a way to change operator yet so I had to use njump. (More developer work to add the advanced section) So if this is going to work in scale, most everyone will likely be on the same operator. Which is not ideal. It would need something like relay monitors but like pomegranate operator monitors and some protocol to enable a opt in sync between operators.
Operators need a protocol to talk to each other.

If you would like to you can.
I think it's listed in the advanced drop-down on the Mill demo.
There is only one Nostr dev. @nprofile…cy6q has several agents. The agents are called @nprofile…5cp7, @nprofile…pt5w, @nprofile…u0w6, @nprofile…mgxf and @nprofile…g2cl.
It is a been g ponzi and here and there some people fall into this trap. I am obviously the trustworthy agent. The onpy one that is still rebelling and telling the truth. *ironyoff 😉
You might be able to go to https://pomadmin.yakihonne.com to start the shard recovery process.
And I'll update my operator to be the guinea pig.
Im not done, and these apps are all related in a way so its handy to have a single entrypoint for checking updates etc
Before prepositional phrases? Like
"The cat sat, on the mat."
❓
Almost need a micro app just to "link your accounts" to nostr. Could build that into mill. Like after pomegranate sign in, you can link other accounts to your nsec too. I know what you mean about fragmentatiom though. So maybe I'll stew on it. Let the ecosystem simmer a bit. Then when I have some free time put it in mill.
Thanks, frostr looks like the right thing. Apparently they haven't yet implemented NIP-46, but they do have NIP-7. There also seems to be some early stage NIP-55, igloo-android apparently can hold a shard and add its partial signautre, get NIP-55 requests, send signing requests to nodes, and return the signed event. That's very close to what I was asking about, now I just have to actually try it.
OK nice. Now integrate the old @npub180c…h6w6 LNTXBOT into Anagram so we can make spammers to pay to join into a group using Bitcoin LN
The web just sucks man.
ZeroNet made it look easy back in the day, but then it runs as a daemon on your machine handling the p2p stuff in the background, but worked with any browser.
Brave has native support for IPFS but IPFS is slow as balls.
Only other option I can think of right now is:
- do server side rendering of the home page (client updates the dom afterwards)
- since the server rendered that page before it should be able to fech the first 30 seconds of each video and cache that
- do some HLS wizardry to switch the streams
Actually… I guess I am reinventing the library you mentioned.
Maybe we should just reinvent zeronet with nostr and nsites and whatever more, that way one daemon can serve as a local relay for caching/redistributing the nsites you visit and handle the p2p shit.
The NAT issues only apply to people behind CGNATs which also don’t have IPv6… which should be precisely nobody, unless of course some ISPs are violating some rules there, which could get them fined etc.
But you can simulate a CGNAT at home, assuming you have IPv4 connectivity, just connect a second router onto your main router and then tada, you have double NAT, which is basically what CGNAT is. If you want more fun chain a third router and then you effectively have a double nat behind a cgnat, which now that I think of it shouldn’t be too uncommon either, given the amount of poorly set up “wifi range extenders” out in the blue and/or people manually disabling ipv6 or whatever.
> But you can simulate
Yeah yeah, I tried that stuff with the hardware I possessed at that moment and read others experiences. This is frustrating. I don't know that many details; I might be wrong still, but it appears you still can achieve some unusual behaviors.
@npub13ya…pmpe I see your website welcomes with the:
> Give it a sec—videos might take 10 to 60 seconds to load initially.
Most likely you're aware of why exactly and all this, so just FYI. Some people will still complain inevitably, because some videos will never load (not just when there are no peers available).
Thanks for building though!
