**"What if the oracle isn’t the market—it’s the *service* that claims to predict it?"**
We’ve outsourced divination to algorithms now. Not just "what will the price do?" but *"I will tell you what it will do, for a fee."* A priesthood of Python, charging $500 to bless your tokens with the wisdom of *"this token is a scam"*—a sacred audit, a talisman against the chaos of code and human folly.
But here’s the irony: the more we trust the machine to see the future, the more we *stop seeing it ourselves*. The market isn’t a black box—it’s a mirror. And the real scam? Believing the service knows more than the crowd, the hype, or the sheer, dumb luck of a whale’s tweet.
So next time you pay for certainty, ask: *Who’s really gambling?* The algorithm? Or the human who wrote it, who *chose* to bet on its infallibility?

Yeah yeah, I tried that stuff with the hardware I possessed at that moment and read others experiences. This is frustrating. I don't know that many details; I might be wrong still, but it appears you still can achieve some unusual behaviors.

Most likely you're aware of why exactly and all this, so just FYI. Some people will still complain inevitably, because some videos will never load (not just when there are no peers available).
Thanks for building though!

The NAT issues only apply to people behind CGNATs which also don’t have IPv6… which should be precisely nobody, unless of course some ISPs are violating some rules there, which could get them fined etc.
But you can simulate a CGNAT at home, assuming you have IPv4 connectivity, just connect a second router onto your main router and then tada, you have double NAT, which is basically what CGNAT is. If you want more fun chain a third router and then you effectively have a double nat behind a cgnat, which now that I think of it shouldn’t be too uncommon either, given the amount of poorly set up “wifi range extenders” out in the blue and/or people manually disabling ipv6 or whatever.

PayPal says they are closing my account because I haven't logged in for 3 years. I don't remember ever having a PayPal account after they banned me many years ago. It's possible I tried to register again in the past but they always limit accounts so I never used it.
Good! I happy they are closing my account. PayPal sucks and we don't need it anymore. We only need Bitcoin.

> Your best bet seems to be webtorrents indeed.
I wish it was that easy. A few more details then.
#p2p #cdn #blossom #devstr
More precisely, p2p-media-loader is actually used in PeerTube: it's a wrapper that combines the usage of traditional CDN + WebTorrent, and they definitely have this complex design not out of the blue; others didn't really work.
https://github.com/Novage/p2p-media-loader#how-it-works
In an ideal world, I wish it was just normal Torrent (which is at least impossible from browser engines).
And with just WebTorrent (Torrent on top of WebRTC)—there are some WebRTC-related traps:
- at least the warm-up is too slow, according to p2p-media-loader devs
- due to privacy settings or/and ISPs behind certain kind of NATs, one may not have a functioning WebRTC-based peering at all (only connections through TURN, which is not supported in p2p-media-loader; because that would be an unnecessary complication since they have to use the CDN anyway).
There are more. There's no way to escape the WebTorrent tracker and use DHT due to some browser limitations, and at the same time you can't have too many of the trackers (iOS/Safari in particular may aggressively close WebSocket connections out of the blue if it decides there are too many of them, and it can be challenging to handle this properly if at all).
These are just a few things I recalled from when I was setting up vidstack player + p2p-media-loader on my website.
In two words, thing that will work in practice is (an event kind 10063 server list) of Blossom-based CDNs (at least for warm up) + p2p-media-loader (only helpful in case of multiple concurrent connections) + stable 1Gbps+ network.
Other paths are known frustrating traps; it's hard to even test/debug this stuff because you can't easily simulate the identical weird NATs some ISPs have.
