California and Giffords Law Center are suing Polymaker because their 3D printer filament was used to make guns. That is pretty ridiculous.

My house came with a pellet stove. It's nice when it's working, puts out lots of heat, runs for several days without refilling and it has an option to run on a 12V battery at reduced output. But it's finicky to keep running, I have to be really diligent about cleaning. The ignitor went out a couple times. There are safety interlock microswitches that get dirty and don't work.
The pellet market is weird here too. You basically have to wait for Home Depot to restock them in late August, them buy a year's worth before they sell out. It's a niche product that is bulky and the bags are easy to damage, not many businesses sell it.

Today I learned that 469 of the 1500 parking meters in Anchorage were stolen or destroyed so far this year.
People can get up $30 worth of quarters by wrecking a $1000 machine.
